Scot Under The Covers is the second book in the "Wild Wicked Highlanders" series and this was such a delight. Suzanne Enoch is an auto-read author for me, even though not all of her books work for me 100% of the time, this book .....pure delights on every page. I had such a fun time with this book and this story really worked for me. There is nothing I love more than a mix of highlander and English pairings and Enoch is one of the queens in romance in writing these pairings for sure.

So our story begins with our hero, Aden MacTaggert, who has practically been coerced into coming to London along with his brothers from their mother who wants them all married. Aden is none too pleased, even though he has had a quiet desire to be married, he just hasn't found the right lass. We see the story set off with Aden befriending a dog who he practically adopts and enters the "cute meet" scene between Aden and our lovely heroine Miranda Harris. Miranda is in a tough situation she learns that her brother has become indebted highly to a gambler he lost a game to and the price he must pay or their family will be ruined.....is herself to marriage to the scoundrel. So Miranda knowing that Aden is a gambler according to his reputation, she goes to him for him and even though there is a angst feels between the two, the angst turns into passionate sweet love as they find a way out of this dangerous love towards their happily ever after....

Scot Under The Covers was a fantastic read and I have to say one the BEST latest releases from Suzanne Enoch. I honestly couldn't get enough of this book. Now I will say that I have yet to read book one of the series and was totally fine not having read it yet, so if you are worried about reading books in order, no worries on this one. You can easily read this one without that. This story was so charming in every way. I am normally a picky reader when it comes to angst love but whew Enoch really worked her magic with this book because I ADORED every single moment of these two as they work out their differences and the angst isn't all the way through the book just a bit in the beginning which was a relief. And there is a great tone of forbidden love in this book. This pair really have to overcome some battles before they can reach their HEA and I really was ALL for it in seeing them fight the struggle together and conquer in the end. And the end was so unexpected and full of surprises, I totally didn't see it working out the way it did and you gotta admire an author that keeps you on your toes, and Suzanne Enoch does that with this story.

Overall I found Scot Under The Covers to be an enriching romance that is packed with mystery, conflict, delightful drama and compelling characters you become endeared to....a a delight canine to fall head over heels in love with....a must READ!

“Scot Under the Covers” beginning was definitely touch and go and I was damned near tempted to drop this but the Book Gods above decided to answer my prayers by gracing me the perseverance to claim a few more pages then wa-lah! Matthew true intentions and dealings came to light which help lead and created the phenomenal partnership between Aden and Miranda. I immediately fell in love with their banterful relationship filled with stolen kisses, steamy moments, and badassery of our fine ass highlander. This was perfect swoon worthy historical romance I’ve been looking for a while.

           Suzanne is most definitely one of my favorite historic romance authors.. it's always an auto buy when I see she has a new book coming out. 
This is the second book in the series and i think that while you could get by with out reading the first book you should read it.. not only is it really good but you get some background information on the three brothers and the relationship issues with their mom.. 

So Aiden and his 2 brother have to find wives before their younger sister gets married, if they dont their estranged mother will stop giving money for the upkeep of their highland home.. 
Naill the youngest brother found his wife Amy in the first book. This one is for Aiden. 

Aiden meets Miranda, she is the friends of his sister and his future sister in law.. Miranda doesn't like Aiden as he is a gambler and for reasons you will read about she does not like gambling at all.. and she let's Aiden know exactly how she feels. 

Fast forward a couple days and Miranda finds out that her brother has gambled and lost a huge amount of money to this guy captain vale.. her brother doesnt have this kind of money, so Vale says he will take Miranda for a wife instead of money. 

Miranda is rightly upset about this and goes and asks Aiden for help in figuring out how to get her self out of this mess. As he is supposed to be a good gambler

They work together and slowly, start to get feelings for each other.. and they start to work towards taking Vale down..

I love books with Scottish men.. Suzanne Enochs writing sucks me in, and I love it..

I absolutely loved this book! This is my first venture into this type of romance book and I immediately need to read more. I honestly don't even know how I made it this long without reading one of these books. I enjoyed the characters, the banter, and the plot. I also really liked the romance, the characters seemed to have just enough chemistry for it to flow well. The writing was good and I can say that once I got into the story I didn't put the book down until I finished it. My only vice is that I wish it was just a little longer because the ending felt just a little rushed, I also would've liked a little more sexy time with our two main characters. Overall I really liked it and would recommend it.

I need to know where I can find a partner like Aden, like yesterday. 

I love a good enemies to lovers story and this has those elements for sure, with some other complications thrown in. The instant attraction between Aden and Miranda was palpable and it had me ready to see where things would go. Watching Miranda be pushed, question her rash judgements, grow into herself was an amazing experience. The way their relationship progressed did not seem forced and I was here for it. 

I cannot wait to read more of Suzanne Enoch's work.

I am a massive fan of historical romances. I am also a massive fan of historical romances that involve Highlanders. So, when I saw that Scot Under the Covers was up for review, I knew that I needed to read it.

Scot Under the Covers is the 2nd book in the Wild, Wicked Highlanders series. This book can be read as a standalone book, but I would highly recommend reading book 1. That way, you can get a feel for the boys’ relationship with their mother and her demand that brought them to London. It is explained in this book but gets more in-depth in book 1.

Scot Under the Cover got off to a slow start. I did appreciate the slow start. The author chose to lay the groundwork for Miranda’s storyline. She also decided to let the reader get a good feel for what type of person Aden was. The book did pick up in pace after that first couple of chapters, and it kept a steady pace throughout the book.

I loved Miranda’s character growth in this book. She was introduced as a shy, sheltered debutante. She was sharp, and she knew how to defend herself verbally. Her character growth came when she was forced into an engagement to Captain Robert Vale. She was forced to depend on her wits to outwit him, and when that didn’t work, she turned to Aden. By the end of the book, she was an amazing woman, and she was worthy of Aden.

I had liked Aden in the previous book. The small glimpse that was given of him showed him to be a man who took risks, in and out of the gaming hells. If I liked him in the previous books, I loved him in this one. He knew something was going on with Miranda. Once he found out what was going on, he was going to do anything and everything to help her. What I liked is that not everything is what it seems with him. He had layers upon layers. It was interesting to see what was going to be revealed once one of his layers were peeled back.

I never do this, but I loved the villain in this book. Captain Robert Vale was indeed an evil man. Each one of his interactions with Miranda gave me chills. How he got to Miranda gave me chills. Everything about him gave me chills. I was surprised that he was juggling more than one ball, though. When that was revealed, I did have hope for Miranda after that.

Aden and Miranda’s romance got off to a slow start. She was attracted to him (and him to her), but she was too focused on trying to shake Captain Robert Vale to acknowledge it. It was when Aden found out what was going on that their romance sparked. Then it was all downhill. Aden knew that he was going to marry Miranda reasonably early in the book. It took Miranda much longer to come to that realization.

This is not a clean romance. There is sex. Now how the sex scene came about is interesting. Miranda didn’t want Captain Robert Vale to take her virginity. She asks Aden, who is more than happy to help. The sex scenes were tastefully written and were hot.

I was a little annoyed (actually a lot) with Miranda’s brother and his role in everything. How she could keep talking to him after that baffled me. I also don’t understand how Aden kept his temper too.

The end of the book was nothing short of amazing. But, I was a little put off by how Miranda and Captain Robert Vale’s storyline ended. I was left unfulfilled and feeling a little irritated. But, other than that, amazing and a real HEA!!!
