I fell in love with this book from the first chapter, the first page even. I loved how LaFleur created a believable fantastical world patterned almost identically on the world of Europe in World War II. This "Beautiful Blue World" feels so real, real enough to connect viscerally with the characters in the book. LaFleur also perfects the art of releasing just enough information to keep the readers begging for more without also frustrating the readers because she does not explain things well enough. I definitely plan to read the sequel.
