when I was a kid (elementary school), I read this book at least twice. 3 stars because I could've finished this earlier it just didn't hit the same for some reason.

Perasaan setelah membaca ini, mengharu dan perasaan yang sama sehabis membaca a monster calls nya patrick ness. Dengan mengangkat tema yang sama perihal kehilangan, aku sebagai pembaca dapat larut dalam cerita Aubrey. Perjuangan bocah 11 tahun menghadapi kedukaan di tinggalkan Ayah dan Adiknya Savannah, dan sekali lagi harus kehilangan ibu nya yang menelantarkan nya dirumah sendiri. Rasanya sehabis membaca kepengen memeluk Aubrey, everything will okay soon. Dan suka ending cerita nya yang menurutku masih realitis dan sesuai dengan karakter Aubrey sepanjang cerita. 

Sekali lagi, middle grade book bikin hati bolong. T.T

I read this book a few years ago and I remember loving it, so I decided to pick it up again and give it another read. I ended up spending the whole day reading it and finished it within a few hours, crying several times in the process. It’s such a wonderfully written book, with amazing character development and you’re able to feel the pain of the characters even if you can’t necessarily relate to their specific situation. It’s pretty sad at times, but it’s definitely worth the read!

This book will forever have a special place in my heart, I thought it was a beautifully written story that captured perfectly the perspective of a young girl (11). A quick read, but so impactful.
