A haunting short novel that feels all too believable. The book is written in such a way that you feel like you are confined to this hotel too. I felt claustrophobic and anxious reading it.

Termush by Sven Holm is a dystopian novella from 1967.

It is set in a luxury hotel filled with wealthy individuals who were able to buy their safety following a nuclear apocalypse. It covers how individuals and the community deal with the aftermath. I got a real feeling for the tension within the hotel and the dream like state that they seemed to be living within. But can the privileged protect themselves from the outside world?

An unsettling, well written and thought provoking book.
