I was definitely a bit bored till maybe like 30-35% and then it kinda picked up, and I got a little more invested and interested in their story. All and all it was a okay/good book, though I don’t know if I recommend the audiobook because the narration of the male twang voices was less then enjoyable lmaooo💀

This book was an unexpected surprise! I was seeing this book on everyone's reading list and figured I'd give it a shot. I love when I immerse myself in a book that I don't have high expectations for and then end up falling in love with it! That's what Sweet Home was for me...a book that I fell absolutely in love with.

Romeo and Molly. Romeo and Juliet. Both names of people that have a tragically beautiful love. Both tell the story of forces trying to consume their love. A love that was meant to be. A love that is beyond anything either could have ever hoped for.

Romeo Prince is the most desirable guy on campus. A guy that never commits to anyone. A guy that other guys are shit scared of and girls would gladly give a lung for. He has a broad chest, a deep southern drawl, long, dirty-blond hair, and is the quarterback for the Alabama Tides. Molly Shakespeare on the other hand is an English, painfully private introvert who has followed her professor to Alabama to be a teaching assistant. Both Romeo and Molly are in the wrong place at the right time when their worlds collide.

Romeo and Molly soon begin a relationship that they are trying to keep secret from everyone. They both have troubled pasts and ghosts that would destroy their love if they let them. They are trying to keep it a secret from Romeo's abusive parents and Molly just doesn't want to be seen as another one of Romeo Prince's latest conquests. Unfortunately, secrets have a funny way of coming out and sometimes, no matter how hard they might try to prevent it, their love is destined to be filled with heartbreak. 

Romeo..sigh! I loved Romeo Prince. He is everything that I love in a hero. He is hot, protective, possessive and just the total alpha male package. Yes, he can be secretive. Yes, he's bossy and dominating. But he's also damaged and vulnerable. I just absolutely adored him. Molly was an awesome heroine. She was the lovable nerd that has suffered immense grief in her past that we can all relate to. Fantastic set of characters! 



When Romeo and Molly first meet they form an instant attraction. Romeo's long believed dead heart feels a pulse that he hasn't felt in years and Molly sees in Romeo the love that she's afraid to feel. Some people may think their relationship happens pretty fast, but I didn't feel that way. I loved the progression of their relationship, and swooned a good 50 percent of the novel.



There is so much more to this story than what I've said, but telling too much would be giving away spoilers that make this book so fantastic. This book isn't all roses and flowers. There is a good amount of sadness thrown in as well. LOVED IT! I have so many quotes for this book, I'm going to have to list some extras that I loved!

Romeo licked his bottom lip anxiously and his eyes began to glisten. “Can I tell you somethin’?” I nodded shyly. He ran his finger down my cheek, but almost as if the action fuelled his strength rather than gave me comfort. “I’m desperately lonely, too.”

“Fateful star-crossed lovers?” He smiled again. It was almost a full smile I’d never seen from him before, so careless and free. “I think we need to stop quotin’ that damn play, Shakespeare. I feel like we’re the fucked-up rated-R version of Romeo and Juliet.”



The writing was amazing. The characters were well rounded, dagamed, and lovable. The story itself was romantic, passionate, and swoon-worthy! I loved this book and even though some of the topics have been used before, I fell in love with the story nonetheless.
