It was an ok read, I loved the Southern setting and the main character's personality, I liked that she was extremely competent and didn't let anyone push her around. I liked the family and their personalities, it was really heart-warming ot follow them and see them get to know each other. However, I think I would have liked less romance, so romance is definitely not my genre after 2 tries. That part of the story was meh, it felt a bit rushed and these parts were the least interesting for me. I hope I can figure out what genre to go to in order to have such heart-warming stories but without the romance parts.

Molly Harper created a perfect southern romance series. It will have it´s southern charm and drama too. Sweet Tea and Sympathy is the first story in the series and it starts off in a dozy. Margot Cary is a successful event planner that she is head of society. But one terrible accident and it sets her whole life upside down. It is definitely harsh for her to face but it builds her character when she overcomes it. It takes some time but disaster always do. While she is sulking her feelings, she discovers that she has a whole family in the southern state where her biological father located. It may be surprising to her but it definitely pipes her attention since it has been years that she saw her father. It may be out of her element to move across the states but it is definitely worth the adventure to meet her extended family and her distant father. It may not go great for Margot when she moves. But she will discover a lot about her than she ever did. She will finally know her path and what she is meant to be. However, she is going to be a mess a little but it is human thought. Everyone has been through it. She will face hard times with her father but she will finally know the truth and find ways to mend. While she is discovering her self and her father, she also gets into a dozy with the hot yet bearded principle Kyle. It´s unexpected but definitely fun to read. Sweat Tea and Sympathy provides sweet southern charm but hilarious southern drama. Five Stars.

This book is the first in a series, after a novella. So I spent my week reading this series and following the lives of the McCready family. ☕️ First off, this book had almost the same premise as the novella except a few different tropes. Marianne knew her family and just went away for college where Margot never knew her family and lived thirty years away from them in Chicago while they were all in Georgia. ☕️ The ending of this made me very upset. It had basically the same ending as the novella, stay in the small town with the man or move to the big city. I hope the next book in the series isn’t the same way. Another complaint is that the chapters in this were quite long. Molly Harper does do a great job at writing characters though. ⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
