Seven Years to Sin
Reviews

I've always enjoyed historical romance but this book took it to a completely different level. The writing of Sylvia Day have always pleased me and this book doesn't disappoint. I loved it. It was full of passion, love, drama and wrongness. It also pleased me that the book has such a strong female characters and in the end Jessica did what she wanted and not what everybody else expected from her and everybody were happy. Amazing book all in all and I can't wait to read more historical romance from Sylvia Day!

** spoiler alert ** I had to read the book that spawned the idea of "Bared to You"! It's also my foray back to historical. I use to devour historicals back in the day (which was a Wednesday). I enjoyed the story overall but I felt like I did not get enough of the H/h, you know? I wanted more time on Calypso and just more time for them. There was a second story taking place with Jessica's sister and the new Lord Tarley. I clapped (in my mind) when Jessica realized that she was worthy of Allistair's love and seized it. I loved that Allistair loved Jessica for 7 years and would not be swayed by others to end the relationship. They were great for each other. My heart melted when he told her they could adopt and that her being barren did not matter. There were some comparisons that could be made to "Bared to You" but not the same since it's a different time period and such. My curiosity has been appeased.

I really liked the change this book had. Most romance books now are Modern and you don't see the earlier times being shown. This I think really gave me perspective on how it was back then. I mean I know romance books center more on the romance but I always find that they teach or show something more than that. I like those aspects in books and the way they had to meander around their social status and stuff like that got to me. We don't really have to deal with that. I mean yes there is a distinct Middle class and Upper class but for the most part I think everyone tempers it well. They don't use their money and flaunt it. We also don't have titles and the "breeding" to have to be so blood thick. There are families with children from several different fathers and stuff like that. It's just cool to see how back then stuff that isn't really relevant now was so big in society back then.
