This is a novelization of the beginnings of the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction. How much is true? I can’t say. But there are enough factual things to keep you wondering. 

It is told from the point of view of one of Professor Kinsey’s research assistants, John Milk. He begins his journey as a pretty sexually ignorant virgin, and learns maybe more than he wishes he knew about the sexual behavior of the “human animal”. Part of the criticism of the sex research was that it was too scientific and left out emotions and fun and any comment about whether the discussed sexual behavior was right or wrong. Milk’s story exposes some of the consequences of trying to approach the hot emotionally charged subject of sex with a clinical, scientific approach.
