T. Greenwood strikes again

Coming off the heels of The Forever Bridge, Where I Lost Her didn't disappoint. Greenwood's wonderful writing paired with the nice solemn story added up to a solid emotional read. The characters were all very lovely and I felt invested in them. The story was interesting right from the get-go and it got even more gripping after Tess was accused of a false crime report. I enjoyed the little tie-ins with The Forever Bridge as reading those parts made me remember the wonderful moments of Greenwood's previous novel. The story started to drag a little bit leading up to the climax, however, the ending was perfect and it tied up the entire story pretty well.

Tess and her husband Jake are heading to Vermont to visit Tess's best friend, their marriage is broken since their failed adoption 8 years ago. On their first night after going to pick up more wine for the group Tess spots a child on the side of the road wearing nothing but a tutu and ladybug rain boots. Tess tries to help the little girl who no older than 3 or 4, but spooks her and she runs off into the woods. Tess returns to her friends house and calls the police. A search party is conducted but after finding no evidence of the little girl ever being real they are ruling it a hoax. Due to Tess's past the police think Tess just imagined there being a little girl.

This was such a great read, i honestly had no idea how this book was going to end, i was constantly deciding whether i was on Tess's side or against her. The writing was really beautiful and it was fast paced so it was quickly to get through. All the characters were likeable except for the police. I would highly recommend that you pick this one up.
