This second volume in the Otherland series presents the adventures of a small band of hardy, even heroic folk who have broken the Grail Brotherhood's barriers to entering Otherland and are hoping to open the place to the common run of humankind. In the course of this part of its journey, the band encounters giant insects, advertisements coming to life, postholocaust worlds, and treachery from a Grail Brother within their own ranks.

           I really enjoyed this book, I found it flowed better, much better than the first in the series. The book picks up where the first left off and almost the entirety of the book is spent in the virtual world, albeit with real-world consequences. The few times this book cut back to the real world to check in on Renie's dad and the other guy looking after her's and !Xabbu's bodies I found myself less invested as those are two characters I care little for. Once Renie's dad is basically written out of the book, although probably not the series, I was liking the book more and more. 
We get introduced to a few new side characters in the form of Australian police although they don't figure too much into the narrative, I imagine that will change in the coming installments.
I am finding difficulty in writing much in this review, the story is getting quite interesting and the threads that were all very separate at the start are slowly weaving together which makes it narratively better, but damn it is a lot of book take in.
