The book cover of Watch Me is absolutely stunning! The sparkles, the colour palette, all of it is just stunning! I cannot stop looking at it. After reading the first three books of the Shatter Me series, I got to read Watch Me, and I loved it! The beginning of the book was familiar to the first book, Shatter Me, but I am not complaining about that at all. I do love parallels. James Anderson, oh, the man he is. He was such a small child when he was introduced in the Shatter Me series, and now, he is the protagonist of his own series. I feel so proud. We got to see character development, and we see how he became a strong fighter that Aaron and Juliette could rely on, even though he was still reckless. Rosabelle Wolfe. First, I love her name. So pretty! Second, I really do love her; she is such an intriguing character in the series. She definitely caught my eye when I first read the few pages. James and Rosabelle together would be unstoppable in the next book. I like how their romance wasn’t rushed at all. We all know and are aware that James developed feelings upon meeting her. Hopefully, we’ll get to see Rosabelle's POV of falling in love with James more in the second book. I do love their first meeting, it’s giving enemies-to-lovers trope vibes. I am all in for it. Warnette! They’re married and are having a baby?! I love it when my ship is married and is expecting a child! I am so happy they’re together! Kenji! My man, still the best character in the series, too. Still love him so much in every scene he appears in.

Shatter Me: The New Republic

I always find this author’s writing very intriguing and it really lets you inside the characters’ minds. I always enjoy her books but I did want more things to have happened in the book. Overall pretty enjoyable 💜

while i did love this book, the writing as expected was perfect, i loved getting to know james and rosa more and getting to see the characters from shatter me. (juliette warner and kenji i love you.)

but unfortunately i fear the plot just wasnt there, it was a lot of back and forth and nothing really happened till perhaps the last five chapters. it felt like a filler book instead of the first book in a series. i hope the next book gives me more. 

i do still like it and will read the next book. there just wasnt much substance to this one.

But I’m ready to see what will come from this series. Tahereh Mafi has built this beautiful, but complex world. And I know part of me will regret reading this already because it will be a while before the next one releases but it’s one I have no problem rereading beforehand because it’s so easy to understand and you will probably learn more as you reread it all so I’m actually excited to do so. And to one day binge it all like I did with Shatter Me.

There is a lot that happens in this book even when you look at it you wouldn’t think there would be. It is vital that you have read the Shatter Me series before touching this one. But I’m ready to see what will come from this series. Tahereh Mafi has built this beautiful, but complex world. And I know part of me will regret reading this already because it will be a while before the next one releases but it’s one I have no problem rereading beforehand because it’s so easy to understand and you will probably learn more as you reread it all so I’m actually excited to do so. And to one day binge it all like I did with Shatter Me. 

wdym i have to wait for the next book…. its a good set up for a series but sometimes felt like a little too much and rushed but overall good
