Takashi Homma
This large, stylishly designed board-book presents a contemporary view of suburban Japan from an insider's perspective. In sparkling, full-color images, photographer Takashi Homma presents Shin Urayasu and Makuhari, both just east of Tokyo, as well as Kohoku New Town north of Yokohama, as places of suburban adolescents, parking lots, fast food chains, large housing developments, and newly constructed condominiums. The innovative juxtaposition of the photographs creates a fluid, up-to-the-minute visual narrative and cross-section of both the future and the present of the Japanese megalopolis.
