I will admit that I only picked up Ghost Spider because it's written by one of my favourite authors. I am not a Marvel devotee and know little about the characters or universe. Volume 1, SpiderGeddeon was not a great place to jump into the Ghost Spider universe. The Impossible Year, on the other hand, while not starting at the beginning, gives the reader some understanding of where the character is right now, and reads well even if you don't have much knowledge of prior books! It's a quip filled book that moves fast, but not so fast to lose readers. Good for teen readers (though still not really my bag, alas!) with good hooks to keep you reading forthcoming volumes!
