  (*Note: I have read 10 volumes (an on-going series) but decided to record as 1 book in the Annual Reading Challenge to avoid flooding the GR feed of my followers*)
 

OK, hear me out - imagine we can witness a duel to the death between humanity's strongest contenders and the supreme being's strongest immortals that would decide the fate of mankind. 



Imagine we can see Adam, the first man, fight hand-to-hand combat with Zeus. Or Lu Bu, the strongest warrior (from the Romance of Three Kingdoms), duels with Thor, the Thunder god from Norse mythology. Even a Buddha joined as one of the contenders. Ludicrous. Absurd. Ridiculous, am I right? 

BUT if the concept gives you a chill of excitement - if the very ideas spark your curiosity even the slightest bit. Then Shuumatsu no Waakure is exactly the kind of story you have to read. right. now. 



Amazing artwork with great character designs and concepts. Also entertaining and fun dialogues that we can all chuckle along (especially the ones on god's stereotypes). My favorite characters include Sasaki Kojiro and Adam. Also the Buddha. 

Be warned, this will take you on an emotional roller-coaster ride, as one minute you would feel like having a heart attack from such an epic fight, and the next you'd be crying your eyes out with the flashbacks, then minutes after you'd laugh out loud with unexpected jokes! Such cycle continues at least a dozen times within the 10 volumes I've read. 

I really just can't wait to find out more about what's going to happen next (but sadly it's out 1 ep./month so I've decided to stop for now as I love to read manga in full volumes).
