Good quality 'chick lit' and a very fast read. An excellent portrayal of the strong and special bond between women, especially in times of crisis. Ruth is dying of breast cancer at 43 and is surrounded by all of her closest friends who struggle with her condition in their own individual ways. I especially loved Ruth's ability to find something special in each of her unique friends...each one is so different with varying strengths, yet she loves them all equally. The narrator, her friend Ann (a sensitive introvert who learns so much from Ruth) reminded me so much of myself that I had a deeper connection with the book.
