Rootbound

Tarah DeWitt

A steamy grumpy/sunshine romance with a warm country feel that touches upon family, heartbreak, and whether the potential for disaster is worth the risk that accompanies love, from the popular TikTok author, perfect for fans of Sarah Adams, B.K. Borison and Lucy Score. Readers say ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐! 'Great spicy scenes, baking and a lot of humour before the HEA' 'A beautiful mix of family and romantic love' 'A romance writing star of the highest calibre! 'Great read sexy, sweet, and wonderful' ....................... You really can't go home again. Tait Logan is proud of the life she's built for herself. Despite her world-shattering divorce, not having any genuine connections with other humans apart from her sister Ava, and the fact that the remainder of her family is estranged from her life, she's happy . . . happy-adjacent, at least. She's rebuilt herself through her photography; her dream career, the one thing she does still have. When that career contracts her to do an assignment on her estranged family's home, Logan Range - a now famous ranch functioning as the setting for a popular TV show - she's left with no choice but to agree. It's only a six-week assignment, after all. She has no plans to set down roots, or get to know the family that, seemingly, has had no interest in a relationship with her since her parents' divorce when she was seven. Henry Marcum is a cowboy who has dedicated his life to the Logan family and to their ranch. He owes them for raising him, rescuing him, and giving him purpose . . . He also owes them for every hardship he's inadvertently brought their way. So, when Tait Logan shows up after 20 years of near total silence, he takes it upon himself to protect the people he knows and loves. It's a rocky start when Tait and Henry first collide; he is naturally wary of her intentions, and she is more than perturbed by their literal collision - which results in her broken camera, during her first night on location, no less. But as the pair get to know each other better, they're thrown off balance time and time again by their growing feelings, and by the story of the Logan family as it becomes increasingly less clear from their perspectives. ....................... Praise for Tarah DeWitt: 'It's everything I look for in a romance, deftly blending heart, humor, and the perfect amount of angst' AMY LEA 'Pure romance catnip and a master class in yearning. Tarah DeWitt's writing simply wraps you up in joy. Cozy, tender, sexy, hilarious - I adored every word' RACHEL LYNN SOLOMON 'Sweet, soft, and brimming with A+ pining . . . a perfect curl-up on the couch read' ROSIE DANAN Don't miss Tarah's other hit rom-coms, Funny Feelings and The Co-op - out now!

A spicy, swoony, grumpy/sunshine country romance

Girlie pop - I get it your hurt that your husband cheated on you and you had to leave your homestead to him and his wife but LETS MOVE ALONGGGGGG....... also you didnt fight for the homestead but cant get over it???

Anywho - this was just ok for me - my goodness there were a lotttttt of side characters so I feel like it took some time away from the MMC and FMC that was needed to develop them more.

fun story, nice pacing! a lot of jaunty editing mistakes that felt tedious though.

“A picture, a dream, a story – whatever it is that causes that initial inspiration, that tiny thing IS the spark. It is absolutely paramount that you see that, and that you still be proud of pursuing your dreams…

Tarah made me feel all the things with this one! I love how she writes such grounded and relatable female main characters. Tait (our MC) was so candidly herself and I really enjoyed her character growth in this one. Plus the Henry of it all didn’t hurt either 😏.

The family dynamic was so touching while also being so bananas!! And the cast of characters was so entertaining too.

Ugh, this made me swoon, hurt and laugh so much.

You really can't go home again. Tait Logan is proud of the life she's built for herself. Despite her world-shattering divorce, the absence of a pet, not having any genuine connections with other humans (apart from her sister Ava), and the fact that the remainder of her family is estranged from her life, she's happy...Happy-adjacent, at least. She's rebuilt herself through her photography; her dream career, the one thing she does still have. So, when that career contracts her to do an assignment on her estranged family's home, Logan Range - a now famous ranch functioning as the setting for a popular show - she's left with no choice but to agree. Thus, Tait is bound, on a reluctant course back to her roots, and to the family she feels betrayed by. Henry Marcum has dedicated his life to the Logan family and their ranch. He owes them for raising him, rescuing him, and for his life's purpose and opportunities.... There's no shortage of shaky ground here in the mountains and valleys of Idaho. They're thrown off balance time and time again by their growing feelings for one another, and by the story of the Logan family as it becomes increasingly less clear from their perspectives. As they confront the past, theirs naturally get brought to the foray. They'll have to weigh their feelings against their experiences of heartbreak, and decide if the potential for disaster is worth the risk that accompanies love.

“I want to love you until I’m absolutely devastated. I’m going to.”

Tarah’s debut novel, Rootbound, is a rustic second chance, enemies to friends to lovers romance set on a horse ranch with dual POVs, a small town feel, Viking cowboys and big family vibes.

It has a soul stirring storyline with lots of unexpected twists and turns - some painful, others uplifting, but overall... this sense of healing. There's a significant focus on that as well as reconciliation, mending relationships, rediscovering yourself, acceptance, moving on, and of course, family, love, hope and new love.

I started this one in the mountains at the end of 2021 and scarfed it down in just a few days. I couldn't get enough of it and at the end all I felt was wow… I really need this to be a movie! 😭🙌🏻 It was beautiful and touching - and I'm so excited for more from Tarah!

"If you’d let me, I’d cherish you."

Rootbound came heavily recommended from all my romance loving friends. It was a bonus that this gem was on kindle unlimited so WHY NOT!?!!?

Rootbound starts out so strong, with Tait working through grief. Grief for the life she thought was her happy ever after. Grief for the loss of her mother, and grief for the father she is so angry at for leaving.

Tait's talents lead her to a job shooting photography on the ranch that's now the main backdrop for the most popular show on tv... it's also the ranch owned by the father she hold so much resentment for.
But a job is a job, and Tait is ready to do all she can to avoid her past.

But everything gets a little complicated when you throw in a little love, doesn't it?

This story is for:
-mending broken pasts/finding family
-falling in love with cowboys built like Thor
-friends to lovers trop lovers
-skinny dipping, bonfire lovin', horseback ridin' enthusiasts
-if you love HEAs with a little extra surprise
-toe curl flirting that you won't forget

This book came at the perfect time for me.
I loved the simple wild and Rootbound had a similar story of healing with the rustic background.
I promise you won't regret it.

TW- there is a bit of language and topics of loss
