I remember reading the first novel to this series and not being overwhelmingly impressed but I have to say that by book two I am hooked. The characters seem more interesting and the plot is more complex. I don't know if I was just in a reading funk when I read the first book but I am definitely appreciating everything about this second one. Definitely check this series out if you haven't already or have been hesitant!
