"My family. Finding them had been so worth the wait." a small town romance with a secret baby and found family trope <3 i almost dnf-ed this, not because it's bad, but because it took me weeks to get back to reading because of uni smh. anyways, i love logan and thea and their lil family. this is my first devney perry book, and i can't wait to read the next one on this series!

3.5/5 ⭐️

Ms. Perry has yet to fail getting me out of a reading slump. In Devney we trust

I dont think about this book at all, literal. It evoked no thoughts in me

my biggest issue with the entire book is that they named their son collin

3.25 Stars I think my opinions might be slightly affected because I'm still recovering from the book hangover that is Long Live the Beautiful Hearts by Emma Scott I really can't that get that insanely amazing book out of my head!! Anyways, I liked the characters and the romance in this book but I also felt like there something was missing for me. I mean it could've just been that I've read a few too many books similar to this one and so it felt very predictable. However, that doesn't take away from the fact that I did enjoy reading Tattered and being introduced to these wonderful characters. There was a lot of heartfelt moments between Thea, Logan, and Charlie becoming a family that I really loved reading. The one thing that I will say that honestly annoyed me is this is yet again an example of a romance book that takes place in a small town where there just happens to be a stalker lingering in the background. I would be fine with this storyline if it had a real purpose or enhanced the story in any way, but no, like quite a few other books this was used as a random plot device to create pointless drama near the end. Now, this is my first Devney Perry and while I wasn't completely blown away I really like her characterization and writing and would likely check out another one of her books in the future.

Secret child trope alert!!! but it didn't hit as much as other SC stories did (sadly). For a story with SC trope, that particular 'feeling' was missing, but it's not a bad read. Will definitely read the next books of the series.

THIS WOMAN DOES NOT MISS ISTG SINGLE PARENT? YES ADORABLE FREAKIN CHILD? YEA BEST DAD EVER? FUCK YES and then yeah they fall in love but that’s beside the point. this book was the cute warm hug that I needed. I obvi love a small town single parent romance and this gave everything I needed. logan is not only a wonderful dad but also a great husband. now I hate the nickname ‘baby’ but if he’s saying it then idc it makes my heart SOAR!! his family is a bit of a shit show but who cares. my man stepped up for his kid and his wife and that is baddie behavior thea has been THROUGH it and i’ve never been so happy for a character to have a happy ending more than ms. thea. she has her family and is living the life she wanted and that makes my heart warm.

This review was originally posted on Addicted To Romance Tattered is the first book in Perry's latest series "Lark Cove" and when I saw this book at my local library overdrive, I just knew I needed to try this one out. I have only listened to her books previously, so I was hoping I wouldn't have a hard time getting into her books and I was pleased to say that this book was wonderful. I really love the rags to riches trope and Tattered was very well done and I think many will relate to the heroine especially. Thea Landry grew up in an orphanage in New York City and she hasn't had an easy life and there were only two people that she trusted but everyone else in her life disappointed and even betrayed her. She worked as a bartender in the big city when she met up with a sexy man Logan, and they had one wild night together and then Logan disappeared and she discovered that she was pregnant and even though she spent months trying to find him, but after six months of searching she decided to leave the city and move to a lake town in Montana. Now its been close to six years and Thea has a beautiful daughter. Thea now runs and bar and restaurant with "Gran" and "Jackson" who are as close to her as family. I like to take the tattered and lost and make it shine. Garbage doesn’t have to stay garbage. Things just need to find their right place Logan Kendrick has come to Montana to help support a child summer lake camp and while he and his friend come into town for a bit to eat he runs into thea where he learns that he is a father to a six-year-old girl. Logan is shocked by this new turn of events and the complication with Thea and Charlie living in Montana and he having so many ties in New York. But Logan wants a relationship with both Thea and Charlie. He has never forgotten Thea since that one night and he finds something tender forming between himself and Charlie. But Logan will have to make a difficult choice..his life in New York City or his family in Montana. The passion in his voice and the intensity of his gaze nearly broke me. Because his plea had nothing to do with dancing. Tattered was a beautifully portrayed romance that just tore through my emotions. I really loved Thea and Logan together and of course their little daughter Charlie was charming. She had spunk and a bit of tom boy but a bit shy around strangers and finds it hard to trust. But once she learns to trust Logan, you just come to adore seeing how much she loves Logan and definitely has him wrapped around her little finger. We also have a wonderful setting which is in Montana and I just love the lake/forest setting that is portrayed in this book and I can't wait to see what future books hold. I personally can just imagine so many perfect spots in Montana that this book would take place and yeah GORGEOUS SETTING!! As for the romance that forms between Logan and Thea, it was one full of emotion and sweetness. There is some powerful chemistry between these two and boy it could set your house on fire, the sparks between these two are pretty powerful. They are careful on taking it slow because of Charlie, but you see the depth of their intimacy grow with each chapter. There are some tough lessons that these characters both have to learn and I was intrigued in seeing them find what they are looking for. There are some complications with Logan's career and his family obligations but I love the choice that Logan makes in the ind and the ending gives you all the feels. I found Tattered to be a tale of redemption, learning to trust and delivers a poignant romance!

4.5 stars Ok so I won't lie and say that I was less than excited when I initially started reading and realized that this book was about Logan from The Clover Chapel. Obvi I wasn't crazy about him in that book, but wow did this one make me change my mind real quick. This book was incredibly cute and I fell in love with all of the characters early on. I found myself smiling and blushing like an idiot the entire time I was reading. For someone that doesn't want kids, I don't seem to mind them in books lmao. Charlie was such an adorable kid and I loved that she wasn't your typical type of girl. She was reserved, contemplative, and not easy to coax out of her shell. She reminded me so much of myself as a kid (and as an adult I guess lmao) and I adored the way that Logan was able to win her over. When she called him daddy for the first time? Please. His reaction was everything. My heart broke for Thea and her upbringing. So damn rough. I completely understood why she was so hesitant to trust Logan and let him in. He didn't give up though and I give him props for how he won her over too. Logan was suprisingly very sweet and I couldn't help but fall in love with him while I watched him fall in love with Charlie and Thea. The way he would do absolutely anything to make them happy?? My heart. He was a little frustrating at times when it seemed like he was so adamant about having it his way, but I'm glad he figured it out. This was the first Devney Perry book where I wasn't sure how they were gonna be able to work it out to have their HEA. I didn't think either character would be able to budge on what they wanted/needed, and was sure it would end up differently, but I was so happy with the ending. Lots of happy tears. I can't wait to continue with this series. Solid start for sure.

This was a re-read and I continued to love it so much! I love Thea and Logan so much, especially their little girl. I loved how dedicated Logan was to make things work for Charlie and have her in his life as much as possible.

3 stars Although Logan was very annoying sometimes, and this was very cliche, it was good romance audiobook to entertain myself with in a day

Super fast paced book and honestly it was sort of like insta love but more like insta lust and shit. I honestly think this is a good read if you’re in a bit of a slump and need to get out asap.

Sweet! Maybe a little long but honestly can't think of anything that I didn't like in it just also wasn't over the moon about it either.

So gooood.

For months now – and maybe longer – I’ve seen everyone on bookstagram singing Devney Perry’s praises. I totally get it now. This book was beautiful and full of so much heart. Now I need to make time to binge her entire backlist. RTC

This is my first Devney Perry book... and I'm now a fan for LIFE!! Wow!! Her writing style is the EXACT type that I connect with so well. This book had everything, and I can't recommend it enough. It was relatable, hopeful, passionate and even hilarious at times. It was downright adorable and I loved every second of it.

Highlights

Thea stood up and ran her hand down Charlie’s ponytail. “Good job, honey.” “Thanks, Mommy. Can we get pizza?” “Obviously. You were the star of the game! I think it deserves a root beer float too.” Charlie’s face lit up before she turned to me. “Are you coming?” “If it’s okay with you.” “Yeah,” she whispered, smiling at her feet. A rush of warmth spread over me and I fought the urge to clap again. My second win of the night: a dinner invitation from my daughter.
Progressssssssssssssss.

“Hi, Logan,” she whispered, inspecting her cleats. “Ready for the game?” She nodded. “Don’t forget your gloves.” I took them out of the back and handed them over. “You play goalie?” Logan asked. “I was a goalie too when I played soccer in high school.” Charlie’s head snapped up. “You were?” “I wasn’t very good.” He exaggerated a grimace. “Maybe one of these days you can teach me some of your moves.” She nodded. “Can I go, Mommy?” “Yes. Have fun.” Charlie spun around and raced for the soccer field to join her teammates, her ponytail whipping behind her as she ran. “Hi.” Logan stood and leaned down to kiss my cheek. “How are you?” Tingles broke out across my skin and my chest flushed red. “I’m good.” Damn you, Jackson.
Hmmmmm 😳✋

“Logan,” she whispered when I pressed even closer. “This is stupid.” Still, her hands came to my waist, gripping my shirt. “You’re probably right. But I’m going to kiss you anyway.”
Mmmmm.
