Find this review and more at kimberlyfaye reads . At not quite 200 pages, Tawdra Kandle's Just Desserts was a fun and quick read. The second book in a two book series, or duology, it completed the story of two major/minor characters in Best Served Cold. In Best Served Cold, Julia's heart was broken when she was dumped in a very public way by her boyfriend, Liam. She turned to her best friend, Ava, to help her get sweet revenge on him. In Just Desserts, Ava and Liam are front and center as they begin a most unexpected friendship that begins to turn into more. If I'm being honest, it was a bit of a hard sell for me at first because I don't know many women who would entertain the idea of dating their best friend's ex, especially one who behaved like such a schmuck. But, Tawdra pulled it all together in a way that made sense. More than that, no one looked like a jerk and Liam was redeemed. After Best Served Cold, I didn't think I would ever call Liam "likable." I was wrong and I'll gladly eat my words. There was A LOT more to him – and the situation – than met the eye. With Ava he was a different guy. One who I found to be quite charming and sweet. I liked Ava well enough in Best Served Cold, but found myself appreciating her much more in this book. I liked that she brought out a different side of Liam. She didn't want to like him, but their chemistry was undeniable. After finishing this, I have to say, I need more duologies in my life. They're perfect for those times when you can't get the whole story – or both sides of it, anyhow – in one book, but don't necessarily need to stretch the story to three books. I'm glad Tawdra contacted me to see if I would be interested in reviewing this series. It was fun and sexy and I look forward to more stories like this from her in the future. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
