Fiancée for Hire

Fiancée for Hire

Tawna Fenske2014
Former Marine MacArthur Patton has made a small fortune on top-secret government contracts and black-ops missions, but his new assignment involves something more dangerous—marriage. Well, fake marriage anyway. To keep weapons out of the hands of terrorists, Mac has to secure a fiancée. A sweet, demure, compliant fiancée to serve as his arm candy for a few weeks while he completes the covert arms deal in Mexico. His sister claims to know just the woman, and sends her best friend to play the role. "Sweet" and "demure" aren't in Kelli Landers's repertoire. A badass veterinarian who neuters big dogs and bigger men on a regular basis, she can't wait to bring Mr. Tall-Dark-and-Detached to his knees. Her longtime crush on the commitment-phobe makes her plan to seduce him even sweeter. Love wasn't part of the plan, but the deeper Mac and Kelli fall into their ruse, the more danger they attract, until more than just their hearts are on the line... Each book in the Front and Center series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order. Holy adorable, Batman! Do you like to laugh while reading? Can you appreciate multiple euphemisms for balls? Are you a fan of the type of chemistry that makes your knees weak and your face flush? If you've answered yes to any of these questions, you need to put a copy of Fiancee for Hire on your list as quickly as humanly possible. This book was a hilarious, sweet and perfectly balanced treat! I devoured it, and I would have happily read more. First off, let's talk characters. Kelli is the feistiest, most adorable and intelligent woman I've ever met in a book. Her wit is razor sharp, her passion for her job admirable, and her way with men rather enviable in my opinion. See, Kelli is the type of woman who looks sweet at first, but don't make her angry. You wouldn't like her when she's angry. Then there's Mac. Hot, hunky, and broken Mac. His intense need to protect the people he loved drew me in. I just had to figure out what was in his past. I couldn't help but but fall for him, and I knew Kelli would too. These two don't just have sparks that fly between them, oh no. They have full on lightning. From the first moment that Kelli and Mac met, I knew I wouldn't be putting this down until I was done. I couldn't get enough of their banter. I ate up the emotional interactions between them, that felt so real I could see them in my mind. The between-the-sheets scenes, which are ample and quite delicious, were just an added bonus in my opinion. Although, I can't deny they are awesome! Prepare to be red-cheeked and fanning yourselves, my friends. Oh yes. Trust me. Wrap all of this up in a story that wouldn't let me go, and you have a book that I fell utterly in love with. Fiancee for Hire is, in my opinion, a perfectly balanced story. Action, romance, emotional stress, and adorable moments all tied together in a way that creates a need to keep reading. I was invested. I was addicted. I still want more. So if you're looking for a hot, summer read? Look no further. Go get a copy of Kelli and Mac's story, and prepare yourself to swoon.
