Doughn't Let Me Go

Doughn't Let Me Go Single Dad Romcom

Teagan Hunter2020
It was just supposed to be one night. No kissing. No feelings. A wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am tangle in the sheets and we go our own ways.Only it's a small town, and I was bound to run into the irresistible Porter Jones again.I just didn't expect it to be at my job interview...which he's conducting. Now the live-in nanny to his adorable seven-year-old daughter, I'm doing my best to avoid falling for his charms.Except it's much harder than either of us anticipated. What's a few romps between friends? No kissing. No feelings. Just fun.Sounds simple, right?Right...

When I read about Porter in a previous book, I knew I needed his story. I love the single dad trope and he seemed like a really interesting character I wanted to know more about. My wish was granted when I heard about Doughn't Let Me Go! Teagan Hunter did not disappoint with this new story in the Slices series. Porter is a single dad who hasn't had it easy in his love life or childhood. He has been able to build up a company and is a workaholic. He's definitely book boyfriend material and I loved how his daughter was his everything. That being said, Kyrie was such a cute character. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing her get her own story in the future! Dory is the nanny with her own difficult past who doesn't really believe in love. She works hard and has such a huge heart. I wanted her to have her happily ever after from the start. Dory can be tough, but means well, even when she's trying to protect her own heart. My favorite part of the book was seeing her slowly let down walls and let herself love. Even if I did want to yell at her and tell her to open her eyes, haha. That's really just a compliment to this author's writing, because that's how invested I was in this story! Doughn't Let Me Go is kind of forbidden romance, but I loved the slowburn side of it. Yeah, there were feelings, but it took awhile for them to give in. It was a lot of fun to read about. This book defintiely had me laughing and I ended this book with a big smile on my face. Add some steamy moments and this definitely has all of the romantic comedy elements that I love and need in a book. An added bonus was seeing all of the characters I've come to love from the previous books. They're such a fun group of people and I don't think I'll ever have enough about them! I can't wait for the next book Teagan Hunter writes!
