“I love you, too, Britta. But all you ever have to do is walk to me. Once you’re there, everything will be right.”

It’s almost impossible to speak. Hearing her acknowledge all those little things out loud floods me with . . . safety. I have a person who notices all the same stuff as I do. There is nothing better. Nothing.

Absolutely LOVED this novella, wish it was a full sized novel just so I could keep reading. Sweet, loving and excellent spice.

it was cute but i wasn’t super obsessed with the characters. especially Britta, i can’t say i liked her. 

the plot was pretty good but i guess i just wasn’t super impressed!

Sumner was the perfect man but again, it didn’t seem so authentic!

Britta has an opportunity to become part owner of a bar that she’s made her home when hockey player Sumner, is in need of a green card. The fake marriage quickly becomes real in no time. 

The only qualms I had were the daddy issues. Clearly Britta is broken but so many people have it far worse and she took her sad story with her allowing it to define how she lives her life. At least her dad told his second family that he didn’t want to be a part of it. Most men just disappear without so much as a word and Britta still got to have a decent relationship with her half brother. It’s really not as bad as she makes it out to be.

Sumner is big and burly but such a softie. Throwing out “I love you’s” with the quickness but he is a man who knows exactly what he wants. He knows more about Britta than she knows about herself. 

Short, sweet and spicy. Easy to read in one go.
