His Bride for the Taking

Short, feel-good romance with the "bestfriends to guess-you-have-no-choice-but-to-marry-me" trope

Look, there are many things I can say about this--childhood friends to lovers, etc--but frankly, this novella was exactly what I've been looking for in everything I've tried reading this past month, so that alone would give it 5/5 in my book. Light-hearted and delightful, gruff hero with a heart of gold, brainy and determined heroine, a cottage by the seaside, half-masked jokes about IKEA? Sign me up.

Omg this was ADORABLE!!! Soooo incredibly sweet!! I loved the twist at the end! This was such a happy, cute love story and left me with a huge smile on my face! If you have an hour to kill and want to feel happy and all the butterfliea, this is a PERFECT choice!!

How could I not enjoy this little novella. It was a wonderful way to spend a little time on a lazy Sunday. I even found time to out in a facemask when reading and truly relax. I hadn't realised it but it's a rarity in historical romance or have our romantic lead be a younger man. Who knew this would become something I now want to hunt out it historical romance? It worked so perfectly to have the pair be close after Sebastian was Marys brothers best friend. It added a level of forbidden to the romance as well. It was just so utterly sweet. I could auve happily read a full length version of this but I in no way felt cheated by this. I recommend checking it out while it's free. Well worth a quick read.

Another fun and swoony novella from Tessa Dare. These are basically my catnip right now. Mary and Sebastian's trope-tastic story mixed brother's best friend with marriage of convenience and a dash of forced proximity and I enjoyed every minute of it.
