So, I'm reading this book as not only a book, but also as future tv show on my favorite television network, no less.

Plot: 5/5
First off, this is scifi. And we all know that I have a soft spot for scifi in my heart.
This did not disappoint.
It was exciting and fast-paced and there was mystery and suspense, and I mean, all of our characters are criminals, so there's some guaranteed excitement AND some guaranteed backstory. 
Speaking of the backstory... I liked the way it was done in the book. And I always love flashbacks in TV series. But in this particular tv series... I'm not sure how that is going to work, but I can't wait to see what the CW does with this.
and, oh my shit, WHAT was with that CLIFFHANGER???
I can't wait for the next one.

Characters: 5/5
Clarke: Clarke is the 'main character'. I know this book is technically told equally from four points of view, but seriously, Clarke is the MC. Clarke has the dead parents and the intense past and the love triangle and everything, so I don't care what you say, she's the main character. 
Wells: Wells. I really, really like Wells. I get him and I want him to be happy and thus Clells. So Wells is really sweet and smart and kind of the typical rich-boy but with no douchey qualities. I really love this history on how he and Clarke met and their relationship development AND what he did. I LIKE what he did. He did it for a reason. A good reason, Clarke! (view spoiler)[but what I like most about him is what we found out that he did at the end. What he did, right there, for Clarke, was just so amazing (hide spoiler)] And Also the way he loves Clarke EVEN when she hates him and is making out with other dudes. He has a human reaction but then he says: "It doesn't matter. I love her anyway." 
Bellamy: I love Bellamy, too, and whenever Clellamy happened, I was just SOO into it. If there were to be a secondary main character, I'm gonna say it's Bellamy here. He also has the whole tragic-past, dead-parents thing going on, he is part of the love triangle, and just, ugh, stuff. And he also has a really cool insight on the one thing he and Wells have in common. Which was true, and cool.
Glass: Glass stayed on the spaceship. When I went into this book, I don't know, I thought it would all go on down at earth, cuz that's where the CW preview video starts at and (it's a been awhile since I watched it) but I don't think we saw the spaceship at all. BUT I GET IT!!! We NEEDED a character to stay on the spaceship, because there's shit going on there too. We need to be able to monitor the political and emotional situations going on in the spaceship, and this was the perfect way to do that.
Octavia: Might be my favorite character. (view spoiler)[There was one point, when she and Wells were walking through the woods and they stumbled upon Bellamy and Clarke making out and Wells was obviously breaking down and Octavia said: "Their walk looks a lot more fun than ours." How can you not love that girl? (hide spoiler)]
Graham: So slimy. His sliminess will come to fruition in future books, I can tell.

Romance: 4/5
Oh god, I don't know who I want to ship for the show! Clellamy or Clells? Clellamy or Clells?
I really LIKE Clells. I like the IDEA of Clells. I hope there will be lots more of Clells shown in the series.
But I was always just SO EXCITED whenever Clellamy happened! 
I'm having a crisis here, you understand.
And also... there was was Glass and Lucas. Which was ALL about the cheese.
I detract points for cheese.

It was ok. Not the best. I'm giving it 3 stars because it kind of felt like a guilty pleasure of mine when I was reading it. I still wanted to see what happened but didn't particularly like it at the same time. I did enjoy the TV show more because it had more action/more survival struggles/etc. This focused a lot on romance and a lot on what had happened back on the Colony. I didn't really like that Wells was such a major character in the book because he is honestly the most selfish character one can encounter. He's doing everything for Clarke but risking everyone else's lives. Bellamy, on the other hand, was probably the closest to how he was portrayed in the TV show. I liked that a lot because Bellamy was my favorite character on the show as well. As for Octavia, I think I enjoyed the bold,confident, and flirtatious girl more than the idea that she's a little child needing protection of Bellamy. It didn't really focus on how they worked to colonize and find out how to keep order. Instead, it was more about the romance from the past and also the romance in the present as Clarke goes to Bellamy, back to Wells, back to hating Wells and being with Bellamy, etc. It just didn't feel like it was befitting of the situation they were in. I probably liked the TV show a lot more than this.

Meine Meinung: Ich bin ein großer Fan der Serie The 100. Die erste Staffel lief bereits auf Pro7 und die zweite beginnt auch endlich Anfang Oktober. Schnell stand für mich fest, dass ich die Romanvorlage von Kass Morgan unbedingt lesen muss. Ein bisschen Angst hatte ich schon, dass mir der Roman nicht gefallen würde. Man kennt es ja von vielen Buchverfilmungen. Hat man das Buch erst mal geliebt, erscheint die Verfilmung oft nur mittelmäßig. Bei Die 100 befürchtete ich, dass es genau anders herum ist. Entweder, dachte ich mir, ist die Romanvorlage so nah an der Serie, dass ich mich langweile oder sie unterscheidet sich so extrem, dass ich sie deshalb nicht mögen werde. 
Zwar war letzteres der Fall, dennoch kann ich jetzt schon sagen, dass ich das Buch nicht hasse sondern liebe! Es gibt wirklich viele Unterschiede zwischen Buch und Serie. Das betrifft auf der einen Seite viele Charaktere, die teilweise anders sind, teilweise im Buch und nicht in der Serie spielen und umgekehrt. Aber auch das Leben auf der Ark ist ein wenig anders. Das sind die einzigen, wenn auch etwas größeren Unterschiede. Das Grundgeschehen, die 100 jugendlichen Straftäter, die auf die Erde geschickt werden, um zu testen, ob man dort wieder lebensfähig ist, bleibt das gleiche und bietet trotzdem eine gelungene Abwechslung zur Serie. 
Erzählt wird Die 100 aus der Sicht von vier Jugendlichen. Neben Clarke, Wells und Bellamy, die wir auch schon aus der Serie kennen, hat auch Glass das Wort. Diese existiert leider in der Serie nicht. Leider, denn im Buch hat sie sich zu meiner absoluten Lieblingscharakterin entwickelt. Bevor sie mit 99 anderen Jugendlichen auf die Erde entwischt ist, gelingt ihr die Flucht und so erleben wir auch etwas von den Geschehnissen auf der Ark. Glass hat ebenso viele Geheimnisse, wie Wells, Clarke und Bellamy. Während des Lesens finden wir diese Stück für Stück heraus. Alle Kapitel sind durchsetzt von Rückblicken auf das Leben auf der Ark, auf wichtige Szenen in der Vergangenheit und machen so immer wieder ein bisschen neugieriger, was die Geschichte der vier ist. Nebenbei haben sie mit vielen Problemen auf der Ark und der Erde zu kämpfen, die uns teilweise schon aus der Serie bekannt sind. 
Vom Schreibstil war ich sehr positiv überrascht. Ich habe das Buch so unglaublich schnell gelesen, dass es mir gar nicht vorkam, wie 320 Seiten sondern eher wie 100. Plötzlich war das Ende erreicht und ich war wirklich überrascht. Gerne hätte ich noch ein bisschen mehr Zeit in der Welt von Glass, Wells, Bellamy, Clarke und den anderen verbracht. Deshalb freue ich mich nun sehr auf Teil2 der Trilogie und verkürze mir die Wartezeit schon sehr bald mit Staffel 2.
Bewertung: Trotz anfänglichem Misstrauen hat mich Die 100 sehr begeistern können. Das Buch bietet eine tolle Abwechslung zur Serie und hat seinen ganz eigenen Charme. Es ist super schnell und angenehm zu lesen und toll gestaltete Charaktere und viele Geheimnisse sorgen für sehr viel Spannung. Ich gebe aus diesem Grund Die 100 5 von 5 Füchschen und bin gespannt auf Band 2.

I read the book because I loved the show so much, and honestly this is one of the rare situations where I think I like the adaption much better than the original source material, in this case the book. It was just not the best writing, and while the idea, again was good, the execution was very sloppy. There was too much focus on the 'romance' rather than the world building or the relationship building. And while yes, (here I am bringing ships into this) I appreciate that 'bellarke' (Bellamy and Clarke) is canon in the original source, it was just terribly written. The book didn't focus on our strong woman like the show represents them, and I honestly found it lacking. While I did purchase the second one, I'm not entirely sure I'm going to finish it. It was a disappointment for me, even though it was a quick read. I wouldn't really recommend it.

The book was okay but a bit underwhelming. The story and concept itself was interesting enough, and the plot developments at the end were gripping enough, but a bit laclustre.
 My least favourite part was the language used, which was extremely simple, almost condescendingly so, for a young adult audience- has Kass Morgan ever hear of a thesaurus? I got so sick of reading 'her parents' and 'the medicine' there are other words you can use instead.
On the flip side, this could make it a good book for those who are learning english as a 2nd or 3rd language.

I did it, I finally read the first book in the 100 series. I have been a huge fan of the @cw_the100 tv show for years, so I figured it was time to pick up the books. And they are so good! I do have to admit that they are very different from the tv show. However, when you look at them as two separate works its perfect. My favorite part of the books is that we get a glimpse at what life was like on the Colony(ark).

In this book, 100 teenage delinquents are sent down to earth to test if its safe. They have been living in space for centuries after the Earth became unsafe to survive on. The book follows the perspective of three of the teens on Earth as they navigate their new life. It also follows the life of one teen back in the Colony in space.

I watched the series in one weekend. I loved it. So much that I wanted to go to the source, so I bought the book. I didn't like it AT ALL.

Sure, the premise is there: in the future, people live in space because the Earth is radioactive. Now, they send 100 young convicts back to Earth to see if people can survive there. 

I love the premise, I think it could be such an interesting world to explore, dystopian worlds are my favorite to read so I was very excited to read this one, but it's such a wasted opportunity. Instead of building a world with antagonists, villains, dangers, I had to read 200 pages of he didn't look at me but then he did and oh i love him but i can't what am I going to do? NO. God, No. And nothing else happens! 

The first book (oh yeah, there are 3, so far), ends where the first episode of the series ends. I don't know if I'll keep reading these books because rolling my eyes so much gives me a headache. I will absolutely 100% keep watching the show though because it really is so very, amazingly GOOD. It has everything the book doesn't have: action, drama, villains, fights, blood, moral dilemmas, a bit of romance and much, much more. I love it.

Holy Crap, I will admit that I had not read this before the CW's show came out, but damn do I wish I had. This is better than expected, that's for sure. Also, totally different from the tv show. I can't say which one I like more, obviously the show is amazing and so well developed but the book is as well! At the same time though, the book is very different; different characters, different personalities, and Finn wasn't even in the book! I liked the fact I got to read Morgan's initial idea and plot for The 100. 

BUT, since this is a review for Kass Morgan's book, and not the CW's show, I'll be focusing on more of the novel portion of this amazing story. Clarke is obviously one of the most strongest characters, mentally. She goes through some shit, lets just say. She portrays that strength, thankfully, in the book beautifully and you can actually read her through process and how smart she really is. 

The way Morgan wrote and described the world, it felt like the earth had been reborn and that they were starting from new, which in a way they were. I did love the relationships better in the book. Obviously, for spoiler sake I'm not going to overly describe what happens via Bellamy, Wells, Clarke and Glass. The book definitely payed more tribute to Wells, than the show. I liked how we actually got to know Wells and how he felt about Clarke. I will say, in the book, it is said that Wells and Clarke had been in a relationship on the Ark, before shit went down with her father. 

It's safe to say that Bellamy is exactly the same in the book and the show haha. He doesn't change, which is good because I loved his ark (no pun intended) from Season 1 till now. In the book, Bellamy and Clarke are definitely way more closer though, and I liked that we got to explore that possibility. We get to meet Glass, who is awesome and mysterious. She goes through so much and has to be forced to hide from it, which sucks! She gets shit on so much for nothing and it's frustrating as hell to read it. I really loved Glass. I always wondered who and how they would portray her character in the show, it would've been interesting. Im pretty sure that the novel equivalent of Glass is Raven on the show. They aren't very similar, story and plot wise, but we needed some type of connecting on the Ark so I guess CW decided to add Raven. I love Raven, don't get me wrong, but Glass would've been as equally, if not more interesting. I know why they did that too; they needed drama with Finn and Clarke, and of course, why not add the girlfriend who flew through 'time' and space to get to him. It was a smart move for the plot but having now read the book, I do wish they added Glass to the storyline. Oh well.

All in all, I did really like this book, was it boring in some places? yes, but being such a lover of the plot and the show, I couldn't not like the book you know? 

You guys should really read this if you love the show like me!

La mayoria del puntaje de mi review va dedicado a la serie.

The 100 lo empecé a leer cuando la serie llegó a mi mitad detemporada y un mes me separaba de un nuevo comienzo. Desesperada, estaba entre leer fan fics o comprarme el libro. Decidí el libro porque Kass Morgan me agrada muchisimo (vi muchas entrevistas que ella misma le hizo a los actores que hacen sus personajes y me encantó). Empecé a leer el libro en el celular y un día revolviendo en yenny encontré el libro. Imaginen mi felicidad cuando lo encontré.

El libro está bien, se lee rápido y es bastante entretenido. La historia cuenta sobre un mundo distopico en donde viven en el espacio y en la nave que se encuentran se está quedando sin oxigeno. Por lo tanto quieren saber si la tierra se encuentra habitable para comenzar a vivir ahí. Así que se les ocurre la brillante idea de enviar a los delincuentes menores de 18 años, que se encontraban encerrados y por ser ejecutados, a la bendita tierra. Lugar que no han visitado en siglos. Crueldad? Donde?

Dentro de la novela vemos un montón de personajes (son 100, no?) y la novela es contada desde el punto de vista de tres personajes: Bellamy (suspiros), Clarke, Wells y Glass. Cada uno tiene diferentes historias y diferentes angustias. Así que resumiré por cada uno:

Clarke: En la serie (si, voy a tener que comparar) Clarke es un personaje único. Pero en la serie pierde mucho con el odio que siente por Welss (ex novio, que envió a sus padres a una muerte segura. Largo de contar). Si bien me parece un personaje muy fuerte también es bastante "ahora si, ahora no". Muchas veces deja que desear.

Wells: Segundo personaje insoportable. QUE.PIBE.EGOISTA. Por su culpa enviaron a los padres de Clarke y os MATARON. A ella la encerraron por eso y obviamente la enviaron a la tierra por eso. El tipo dice que TODO LO HIZO POR AMOR. Y FUE HASTA LA TIERRA (quemo una plantita importante y lo mandaron a la tierra como criminal) FUE POR AMOR. AMOR LAS ALSPLDA. SOS UN E G O I S T A. Todo lo hace porque tiene CULPA. Y es un personaje de lo más desagradable y espero que pase como en la serie y muera.

Me calmo.
No, vengo con lo peor.

Glass: Desde que Glass se escapa en el momento que envian a los delincuentes a la tierra, me dije "este personaje va a ser aburridismo". Y eso es al comenzar la novela. Glass es INSOPORTABLE. Les cuento rapido, Glass fue encerrada [spoiler] por quedar embarazada[/spoiler] tener un amorio con un chicopobre de otro sector de su nave. (Hola, no sabías nada de protección? en el fututo tampoco enseñarán sobre protección? seguirems teniendo madres a los 16?). Y por eso tuvo que dejar al AMOR DE SU VIDA Luke. Este personaje no SE CANSA de contar cuanta ama a Luke, cosa que a nosotros no nos interesa. Y desde el primer a último momento, leer sus paginas fue un calvario. Cada vez que pasaba de capitulo y leía "Glass" lloraba.

Por favor, Kass, leeme en español. NO LA PONGAS EN UNA SEGUNDA PARTE.

Ahora viene lo bueno:
Bellamy: El mejor personaje de la novel, como también de la serie. Bellamy es humano, es protector y es increíble. Desde el primer momento hasta el último tiene la razón, sabe como manejarse y como sobrevivir. Importancia que pocos le dan. No tengo palabras para poder explicar lo mucho que lo amo, pero en fin.

Con respecto al romance (sacando al aburrimiento de Glass y Luke), existe uno leve entre Bellamy y Clarke (como en la serie no son oficialmente canon... casi lloro cuando lo leí) y al final dde la novela da a entender que continua.

La novela está bastante bien, Kass tiene una escritura muy bonita, con frases bonitas y mucha coherencia en lo que escribe. Si bien yo le pondría muchas cosas que faltan y que el plot brinda, creo que su segunda parte podrá brindarla. Tengo mucha fé. No entiendo como tanta gente fue cruel con esta novela, se nota que es una novela creandose de a poco.En fin, la gente quiere mucho y hace poco.

Una estrellita más por la serie y Bellarke, sisi.

I'm not sure why no one likes this book. Sure I like the show maybe a TINY bit more than the book but the book still had it's moments! I really shipped Clarke and Wells for so long and now I'm just like ugh my heart because DANG IT BELLAMY QUIT BEING A MAJESTIC AND LOVEABLE ASS. 
I liked how the story switched POVS. Although I wouldn't have minded a few POVS from Octavia. I missed seeing Finn, Raven and Jasper. And some of the others but Glass and Luke were nice as well. The only problem I had with them was their love story didn't feel strong. It felt a little weak..Not really sure how to put into words what I mean... but anyways, I LOVED IT and I will definitely be reading the next one to see what happens in the books. WOOP WOOP!! :P

           Unfortunately I watched the tv show first, the book is not what I was expecting. The idea of a post apocalyptic world, the last of the human race and the need of still have division, when the life hangs on little rations, to have rich and poor feels a bit unnecessary, and I would actually prefer an equality approach. 
The romantic chemistry showed by Clarke and Bellamy is exactly what I’ve been waiting for since the tv show. 
I still don’t like Wells, and this character Glass, I found it completely unnecessary.

If you didn't know, The CW has made this book series into a TV show: The 100! I really really love it, and decided to give the books a try. Especially when I heard there were more Bellarke moments and romance!

This book is very fast paced, at least it was for me, and it did have a slow pace in the beginning but I think it picked up. There are four POVs: Bellamy, Glass, Wells, and Clarke. I enjoyed seeing this from different perspectives, but at some points it annoyed me. I didn't like Wells (simply because he narked, and I do not ship him and clarke together!) I was expecting a lot more interaction between the characters, like with Bellamy and Clarke, I was hoping for more interaction between them. At least they had more romance in the book than in the TV show, that's a plus!

I was slightly disapointed because I had gotten all worked up thinking this was so amazing and ready to give it a big five stars. That doesn't mean I didn't love it, just not enough for it to receive an extra star rating!

I was surprised to see that through-out the entire book, the voice never changed. It was sometimes a little difficult to remember what POV I was reading, and had to look for the name in the chapter to remember. I'll be honest, I didn't follow every exact word, I did skim over some parts I thought were boring; Like, Clarke and Wells' romance scenes. Gag. Gag. I didn't enjoy all the flashbacks, it seemed like there were too many, and some of them that didn't need to be put in there. 

The book is based around the last living humans in outer space trying to survive by rationing food, medicine, and executing those over the age of 18 that have been convicted of a crime because they're severely low on oxygen so everyone can share. Like anywhere, there are a higher group of people, they're given more points, and they're able to survive longer because the less fortunate are the ones who get cut of oxygen. So, they send a hundred criminal children (all under the age of eighteen) to be sent down to earth to see if it's survivable for everyone. It's basically a death sentence, because there is no guarantee they will live. They don't even know if the radiation is still toxic.

All-in-all, It was a good book and I do recommend you read it. I think the TV show is better, If only they had some bellarke action on the show. It shows a lot more, and has more character building, as well as showing what's actually happening on the ship. Which was known as the arc. I enjoyed the different characters on the show, and how Clarke's mother was alive and was on the councel. I also recomend you watch the TV show. It's sooo good!

The 100 is a science fiction novel about recolonizing Earth and what happened there. It is a story centered around four teenagers (Wells, Clarke, Bellamy, and Glass) that lived on the spaceship but got sent to Earth. Wells is the chancellor's son that is risking everything to try and get the forgiveness of the girl he loves. Clarke is a criminal that is getting a new chance at life on Earth. Bellamy is a boy that fought his way onto the ship to protect his innocent sister, Octavia. Glass is a criminal that escaped being sent to Earth but realized that being on the spaceship is as dangerous as being on Earth.

This novel is told in four point of views, switching every chapter. I thought that would be why I couldn't enjoy the book but the switching views didn't bother me at all. Normally, I hate even dual views but I fared surprisingly well with four different point of views. It's nice to see what all the characters are doing and what they're feeling. My favourite character was Bellamy, the protective brother that would make sure his sister is okay at all costs.

The 100 is a book with potentials and it made me satisfied. Hopefully the sequel will be even more outstanding than this one. The ending didn't surprise me all that much because I watched the CW TV show trailer (yes, it's coming to TV!). It did end on a pretty good note and now it just left me waiting for the sequel.

The Hundred is a fascinating story set in the future. It was an interesting take from most dystopian books that I have read because Earth has supposably been uninhabited for years. The storyline itself was broken up into four different character viewpoints: Clarke, Wells, Bellamy, and Glass. I enjoyed every characters' perspective except for Wells's. One thing I did like was that there were two guy viewpoints and two girl viewpoints, and that they all didn't take place on Earth, and not every one of the viewpoints was from someone who had been Confined (which is basically being in jail). I do want to say I was very hesitant about reading this book because of all of the viewpoints. I really prefer one viewpoint (and sometimes two viewpoints).

Clarke's Perspective
I didn't really have any problem with Clarke's perspective, but it wasn't as strong of a viewpoint (as attention-grabbing) as Glass's and Bellamy's viewpoints were, but I did like it.

Wells's Perspective
I felt like there was way too much focus on Clarke from Wells... I mean we get it, you like her! It was boring and drawn out to the point that I wanted to just skip his viewpoint every time they came up (I overcame that! and read through the entire story though). I was just very disappointed overall with this perspective and character.

Bellamy's Perspective
This viewpoint was probably my favorite out of all four viewpoints. I found it the most interesting of the perspectives. I feel like his reason for coming to Earth with The 100 was the most amazing anybody could do for anyone.

Glass's Perspecitve
I loved Glass's Perspective because it was different than the other three because it showed what life was like in space and not down on Earth. Her perspective also held an air of mystery to it, because for the longest time you didn't know what Glass had done to have been Confined.
