3.5 stars but they approach 4 stars more than 3 so that's why the 4 star rating for a 3.5 star.... I hope that made sense. It did in my head. This was a very fun and entertaining story! I loved all of the witty-banter.

This is only the second book that I have read by R.S. Grey, and OH MY STARS!! I'm coming to find that all of her books are a quick can't-put-down sexy, laugh-out-loud, sweet, and fun read! I'm totally hooked within the first few pages!

This novel follows the fresh-out-of-college twenty-three year old, Josephine Keller, starting her new life in New York, very fashionably. She's from a very small town in Texas, with hopes to making it big in the fashion world, and she's out on her own with no support from her parents.

  
    Where I grew up, football reigned and being a vegetarian was on par with being a Satanist.
  

I can relate to Jo on many levels, some being the blogging part and hoping to pursue your dream in a city, as well as some personality here and there (I lucked out on having her wickedly gorgeous looks though).. She has a very crappy apartment, along with some very... friendly neighbors.. *cringes at that part in book*.

It starts out as Jo is getting in a cab to go to a Gala she was invited to, and I knew I would love the book simply based on the conversation between Jo and the cabbie. I automatically come to adore Jo and Lily's friendship, It reminds me of me and my best friend sometimes. She also runs a blog, but it's about food!

  Lily: I looked him up last night per your email... Y'know, maybe you should have mentioned the fact that he is a 10.10 on "Josephine's hot guy scale"?

Josephine: I hadn't noticed.

Lily: I'm so calling bullshit on that.

Josephine: Lalalala. Can't hear you over the sound of my future calling. Oh, it's Vogue. I better take it.

Lily: You are so lame.

aaaand, another heart felt, friend-on-friend convo…

  Josephine: Lil, I was just watching the sunrise over the Hudson and it reminded me of how beautiful you are.

Lily: Enough with your false flattery Slutilda. If you keep texting me, I will straight up kill you. LET ME SLEEP.


We are introduced to the sexy, rich, can-I-have-you-with-sugar-on-top, Julian Lefray, who is helping with his sister, Lorena's, fashion company while she's in rehab. It just so happens that Jo has submitted her application for Lorena Lefray Designs Assistant. They have a run-in at the Gala and while she asks to put in a word for his sister, he can't help but admire the way she looks in her red gown. Do you think she gets the interview? Do they hook up? Will there be sexual tension? Ooh, you'll just have to read this book to find out because I will not spoil any more juicy details!

I will say, Jo and Julian become much more acquainted with each other, boundaries are broken, sex happens, and a family might've been repaired! Oh the feels!

There's also a friend of Julian's, Dean, who owns many restaurants and bars, and boy did my mind click when I put the pieces together. Lily has a good blog. Dean owns restaurants that sells food… Oh, la, la.

Now, on to talk of other things…
This story is told in both Josephine and Julian's POV, giving the readers a good sense of what goes through their mind, and how naughty they're thoughts could be. There have been many times where I'm cackling from a witty and numerous thought of Josephine's, I swear, she's like an upgraded and more attractive and talented version of me… Oh, and more stylish!

If you are looking for a New Adult Romance Comedy with a hunky male you just want to dip in ice cream, then this is a book for you! Don't miss out on a chance of the Allure!

I absolutely loved the first two of Rachel's books that I read. With This Heart and Scoring Wilder were both fantastic reads. Her latest titles have been good reads, but they've missed a little of the original magic for me. It's back with The Allure of Julian Lefray. I had SO MUCH FUN reading this book. It was sexy, romantic and, at times, laugh out loud funny. 

Jo was easy to relate to and, more importantly, like. Her inner dialogue was great and the voice on her blog was fun. I'd read it if it was real. Julian was a delicious character that I could easily understand her crush on. I mean, the man had a reputation and that can be a turnoff for me, but there was more to him than met the eye. The chemistry between them was hot and I loved their banter. It was fun to watch them dance around the lines of what was appropriate and what was not. I loved how they formed a friendship first and allowed things to grow from there. And, even better, with alternating POV, we got to experience it from all sides.

I'm not sure of the author's plans going forward, but I'm itching to get my hands on a book featuring Jo's best friend from home, Lily, and Julian's friend, Dean. Keep your fingers crossed that this really happens. I think it could be fantastic!

What a sweet, sexy, hilarious book! The Allure of Julian Lefray was exactly what I was in the mood for – it was sweetly romantic, with tons of laugh-out-loud moments and main characters with great chemistry. I adored this latest romantic comedy from R.S. Grey!

If I was a provocative temptress from a James Bond movie, I’d have picked up my champagne, held his eye as I took a sip, and then seductively whispered, “Is there room for two on that flight in your pants?” or y’know, something equally as seductive. But since I am Josephine, weird-girl-from-the-country, I stayed silent and took another sip of champagne.

Our heroine, Josephine Keller, is a fashion blogger who has just moved to NYC in hopes of making a career in the fashion industry. Jo is adorable, sometimes awkward, but she’s a sincere kind of heroine – basically, she’s endearing as hell, and I adored her. Landing a job is her first priority in NYC, since she’s close to broke and her parents aren’t exactly supportive of her dreams. Nonetheless, she is determined to accomplish her dreams, and though there are a few fumbles and awkward moments along the way, she gets a job working not for famous fashion designer Lorena Lefray, but Lorena’s hot, sexy brother Julian.

Julian Lefray is highly intrigued by and attracted to his new assistant, though he knows he shouldn’t feel the way he does about her. I loved that we get Julian’s POV in this book – it was fun to see his side and his struggles with fighting his desire for Jo. I liked that he wasn’t the clichéd manwhore – he’s a workaholic, but he’s sweet and loyal to the people he cares about, one of which Jo is quickly becoming.

I’d gone thirty-one years without knowing her, yet now it felt wrong to even go one weekend without speaking to her.

Jo and Julian have serious chemistry together, and it’s difficult for them to resist, but they set it aside to form a friendly relationship. Jo can’t risk losing her job if she sleeps with Julian, her boss, but they spend so much time together that their friendship quickly, genuinely turns into something more.

“What’s gotten into me, Jo?” he asked with an incredulous tone.
He took a step closer to me, pulling his body flush with his. His hands gripped my upper arms and his mouth met my hair, just above my ear. His chest pressed against mine so that I could feel his wild heartbeat hammering a crazy rhythm.
“You,” he bit out.

It gets pretty intense between Julian and Jo, but what I really enjoyed about this book was that it never lost its easy humor. I found myself smiling so much at the banter between the characters, and some of the situations they got themselves into were absolutely hilarious.

The Allure of Julian Lefray is a feel-good office (even though they’re technically not in an office for the majority of the book) romance that I couldn’t help but enjoy. It had sweet, hilarious, endearing characters I loved reading about. I’m really hoping the author will be writing a book about Jo and Julian’s best friends – she set up their story perfectly in this book. If you’re in the mood for an easy, fun, sweet read, The Allure of Julian Lefray is for you!
