Sun Tzu's 'The Art of War' teaches pure military strategies that one should undertake to defeat an ennemy, and it does so wonderfully. Precise language and short chapters will lead you through the rules a general has to follow in order to constantly outwit its opponent(s). The logic behind it can easily be applied to some aspects of our daily lives especially in business or management, although I would be careful about not overinterpreting the text as its original ideas lie solely in military strategies. I really liked the book overall as it plunged me into thinking in terms of pure military rationality in the same time as making me reflect about the deep psychological aspects of the battlefield. A great read for anyone interested in strategic warfare in general, but also for the common reader who finds satisfaction in logical reasoning and clear literary forms.
