I struggled with this more than I expected to. I found it too long and I got bored with the minutiae of meetings and biographical details. At some level, I take away from it that the success of a complex system of people and decisions is absolutely not correlated to the sum of the brains, experience and education of its people - at least as Americans have traditionally defined those qualities. But it seems more about systems and incentives than people.
