I've been reading a lot of books recently where not a lot happens. So to get dropped in the middle of this unnamed Caribbean island, with scuffles, fights and murders was a nice change of pace. I especially liked the strong female characters.

Just finished this and it really was an excellent read. The characters were engaging and I adored the use of language.
