I read 62 pages of this before I had to put it down. My god. Back in 2020, I grew to have an obsession with One Direction (which has thankfully dwindled), and seeing this book and reading the very intriguing synopsis was enough for me to go “yep, this book is going to be a favourite of mine” 

Ha. 

Harri is probably the most infuriating character I have EVER encountered, and that includes the main character in ‘We Were Liars.’ Everything she does and says about ‘Half Light’ is something you’d expect from a 12 year old girl, not an 18 year old who is starting university. She’s rude, selfish, has a frightful superiority complex and has the mentality of the people I HATED interacting with back on Stan twitter, which is “oh since I’m a fan of this person/band it means I know EVERYTHING about them and I know them better than EVERYONE else.” *shivers* 

I was told to read this book if I enjoyed ‘A Good Girls Guide to Murder’ by Holly Jackson, I advise any AGGGTM fans to NOT read this book. Coming from the complexity and “gripping the edge of my seat while beads of sweat roll down my face” brilliance of that book to then read, whatever the hell this is, is a bit of a let down. 

I wanted to like this book, I really, truly did. I was so excited to read it. Unfortunately this is going straight to the bottom of my shelf with all the other books I completely LOATHE.
