I know this author since I’ve read „After” series for the first time, like ...last summer. Anna gave me such great vibes and experiences through those novels and my expectations for any of her books have grown so much since then. She is great, I really admire her, but if I’m being honest she really disappointed me with this series that I’m going to talk about. Karina, is the girl who set too much boundaries for herself just from the fear of being disappointed and rejected. With a very strict father, an appreciated colonel, and with a mother that abandoned her for her own happiness, she becomes a strong, independent woman. She and her twin swore to each other that they would stay as far as they could from the military services and that kind of life. But what can she do when a tall, handsome and untalkative soldier comes to her for a massage? But what if he sleeps on her couch in the end? Kael, the soldier that has seen too much for his young age, the one who knows death better than anyone else, finds peace only next to her. But what if that peace will be disturbed in the end? Yes, it’s a really great series, but here come my little observations. Even if the narrative technique is so great, the place of the action isn’t very clear and I think that the author insists too much on the dark spots of the characters. For example, when Karina has a fight, she repeats herself too much on different chapters. Too many cat fights I suppose, but I must admit that the general idea is awesome. I really loved the theme and I kind of liked the books, but I would have loved much more to have more moments of them together, because the author, concentrated too much on their untreated wounds from their past. In the second book, I’ve seen them together only in the last fifty pages of the book. They met each other in many occasions, but it didn’t sound particularly right. Not what I was expecting. Anna's style of writing is great, but I had to look after those kinds of details too and the final result wasn’t a very good impression on the books.
