Wow. This book is fantastic! I am 9 novels/novellas into reading the most revered of Lovecraft's works and this one, personally, is my favourite of the bunch.

Lovecraft perfectly combines the familiarity of our world with dimensions that mortal minds can not comprehend; perfectly blurring the lines between reality and unreality. This paints a stark, almost depressing, image that creates an uncanny uneasiness for the reader.

I would highly recommend this book for anyone trying to get into the Lovecraftian universe!

In order to prepare for the construction of a new reservoir in Massachusetts, he surveys a rural area that is to be flooded near Lovecraft's fictional town of Arkham.
