3.5/5. This book was so fun to read and definitely something I looked forward to picking up at the end of a long workday. It had a charming storyline and I loved how the main character wasn’t your run-of-the-mill white protagonist, but it sometimes felt like the author was trying to fit too much idealism into a sentence that detracted from what would really happen. That being said, this was an entertaining read with likable (albeit sometimes frustrating) characters and I’d recommend it to anyone with an appetite for escapist romance.

You have gifts that people can only dream of having. They make you special and utterly unique in a way that is as far from weird as you can get.

I love Daisy terms to agree with Liam, but I love even more how Liam would do anything to get around Daisy. I was always her and he enjoyed every date because it was the only way how she could get to know him better, to discard the last image of him to her. 

The only thing I dislike about this book was the reason why she finally decide to real date him was because she was "waiting for her brother's permission". Like, what? Girl, where are your feminism and understanding of who decides what to do with your love life is you and only you.

Anyway, I love Liam and how bad boy vibes he gave. I only see Richard Madden as Liam.

This was really cute!! Well-written and lots of characters to bring the levity. I love a good rom-com

Liked it, but there were some things in the book that didn't gave me the like omg cute moment. I also thought that the mid part was a bit slow, they knew they liked eachoter but that was it, we were waiting so long before they told eachother.

I bought this book in an airport because I was bored and there was a bookstore haha I didn't heard of it before and I didn't know the author but the blurb sounded interesting enough. I went in with no expectations expect the hope it would be better than Dating Dr. Dil and - thank God! - it was.

Dating Dr. Dil had a lot of similarities with this one and it was the last book with a desi family I've read before this so I compared them automatically in my head while reading.

I hated the families in Dating Dr. Dil because it was a bit too much no matter how authentic it may was. The fact that they were absolutely shitty people didn't help either. The family in this book still had the big involved caring family but where it was annoying and agitating in Dr. Dill, it was charming and sweet in this book. I really liked her extended family because it felt natural and it was nice to see the family being actually nice to each other and not just controlling. I would say they were only meddeling in this book because they still respected her descisions. Well, kind of.😂

I liked the back story and it actually made sense for once. I hate when they don't speak for years because of a simple misunderstanding, it's so unnecessary. The 10 years inbetween didn't bother me as well because they were 17 and 19/20(?) when they had their falling out so it wasn't like they wasted their prime years apart or something like that. She wasn't hung up on him either but instead lived her life to the fullest in all aspects which was really nice to read about. Her having casual hookups was really refreshing to read.

I really loved her personality and "quirks" and Liam was the opposite so they completed each other perfectly.

The ending was the one thing I wish she would've done differently. The relationship with his brother, the reuniting with her brother, the realisation moment...it was all a tad..unsatisfying. It was too short, too little emotions and not enough time to process.

I'm disappointed we didn't get to see their wedding at least in an epilouge because the whole point of the book was for them to get married. He was so enthusiastic with his and her dream wedding including his sword lmao I would've loved to see at least the beginning of the wedding day when they get ready because he would break the rules and get some one on one time with her and just play with his sword haha (with sword I mean an actual sword lmao)

I do enjoy this series of romance books more than any other that I have read. They’re actually funny and the characters are always eccentric in a way that some people find to be too much. But I really enjoy them and their stories from what I can remember. I liked that the characters got their second chance at love and that they had some history. I also think people kind of need to learn what manic pixie dream girl actually means, because although she does have some characteristics she is also the main character of this book. So she doesn’t solely exist to advance the story of her male counterpart.

I thought this book was a pretty cute romcom. It was slow in the beginning and hard to get myself to read more. But, when it picked up I was hooked and I didn’t want it to end. I enjoyed it but I thought there were other books that were better.

this book was so cute and daisy’s character was so relatable. i love how liam was written as well, especially his flaws and the way they were accepted by daisy and her community. overall, the way the plot unraveled was well written and it was an adorable enemies to lovers ish second chance love story. really enjoyed reading this. 4/5 stars

I thought the Marriage Game was great but the Dating Plan far surpassed in relatability, storyline, and 🌶! I loved Daisy in the Marriage Game and sequels about supporting characters make me so happy. Daisy is a software engineer working at a startup and runs into her childhood crush at a convention. Not only is this a romance novel with South Asian representation, it’s one with a South Asian software engineer who ends up getting with a white boy! Couldn't get more relatable to me! I thought the Dating Plan was a far more enjoyable read than the Marriage Game. My only qualm was some of the software engineering references felt a little awkward and forced.

In theory this should’ve been everything I wanted but about 65% in I realized that Daisy and Liam managed to lack both personality and chemistry. That being said, there were things I liked which was mainly everything but the romance so take that how you want to.

This was a very light, very fun read to transition me out of my last read, which was HEAVY. So I felt like it did its job. I enjoyed the banter between Liam & Daisy; it didn’t feel like it was forced or cringey. I actually found myself smiling with how it was delivered. BUT, there were some instances where it felt like it was trying to lean towards “insta-love” while also trying to build up tension between them?

IDK, there were some 180 turns in their feelings towards each other which kind of defeated the purpose of building tension.

I was surprised to see some dialogue about spice 👀 didn’t see that coming, so there is a tiny bit—nothing too expressive, but it’s there.

Some of the writing also felt like it was spewing information out just to get it out there & known; those parts felt forced to me & I ended up skimming through them.

also, really liked the representation of how involved her family was & the dynamic and banter between her aunties!

Okay, I really enjoyed the story but I thought it could’ve been a bit better?
For example, I don’t understand why it took so long for us to meet the father and Sanjay. I really wish we had more time with Sanjay and the dad. 
However, I still loved this book very much and I thought it was amazing. I loved the way the characters were written. 
I just wish they both hated each other. But obviously Liam had no reason to hate Daisy given that he had a valid reason.

Daisy has loved Liam for as long as she can remember... until he left her standing alone at prom with no date and no excuse. Now she's dedicated 10 years to hating him.

But Liam may have the perfect proposition for her. Fake an engagement. Yes the ole' fake relationship trope.


TDP was the perfect mix and sweet, salty and a bit of heat 🔥 with its nerdy quips, melt your heart one liners, and HEA.

-supporting diverse authors that ROCK
-learning a little about what its like to be a part of a large asian family
-avenger jokes
- the nerdy girl gets the hot guy
-the proposal vibes (with less to the wind to the wall)

-feel good romances

What I missed:
- for some reason I just felt unattached to the more serious topics. Idk if it was the timing or maybe I needed more but I craved more of these two being fun and wild together.
