Love this! It is truly a gothic with all the suspense and gloomy atmosphere...I wish this were a series.

Deanna Raybourn is one of my favorite authors, and this has been sitting on my shelf for ages, so I finally decided to pick it up. The Gothic vibes make it the perfect read for autumn, and I enjoyed the setting and the little nods to the supernatural. Raybourn's writing was lush and the tension she created between the characters was well-done. I did find the plot a little boring at times because not a whole lot happens, but other than that, I enjoyed it.

A different take on the whole Transylvania/vampire tale. Pretty good read. A little slow in parts, but overall worth reading.
