Here it is. Book two. The sequel to The Edge of Never, one of my new VERY FAVOURITE books. I’m pretty happy with this follow-up. Maybe not one of my all-time favourites, but I love Camryn and Andrew so much that I just had to know more about their story. If you’ve read The Edge of Never you’ll definitely love The Edge of Always. It’s just as beautiful, heart-breaking and heart-warming as its prequel.
 
After meeting Andrew Parrish, Camryn Bennett’s life is finally falling into place. She’s never been happier, is finally looking forward to her future, and is happily engaged to her soul mate. Ready to start the first day of the rest of her life with the love of her life, something awful happens that sets her right back to her days of depression. How can so many awful things happen to someone in one lifetime? Determine not to give up on his happiness and Camryn, Andrew decides they need to start over, and by starting over he plans to hit the road again and hopefully, help Camryn cope with the pain during her moments of weakness.
 
The Edge of Always picks up almost right after the end of The Edge of Never, give or take a few months. Andrew and Camryn are happy, ladidadida… everything just seems to be going well for them. So where is this story going? All of a sudden WHAM! RIGHT IN YOUR FACE FEELS!!! Your heart hurts so bad and you just feel terrible for these two…meanwhile Camryn is masking it all, trying to act normal, here you are feeling heartbreak for them!… Yeah, it’s not right, something is definitely up. (I can’t tell you what the event is because spoilers…)
 
I feel so bad for Camryn, because she’s been through so much, and deserves her happy ending, but it just gets taken from her and it’s just NOT FREAKING FAIR! But we wouldn’t have a story without a bit of tragedy. I just feel for her, you can’t help but do so.
 
Andrew Parrish…
 Again, this….perfect specimine of human being. *grumbles* I hate him cause he’s so perfect. And hate in the playful sense. Why can’t more men be like Andrew Parrish? He should be the STAPLE of what Men want to be like when they grow up. I can never say enough good things about him, even more so in this novel. He’s Camryn’s rock, he’s so strong because he wants to be everything she deserves, he truly does love her, listens to her, is careful, but most of all he THINKS BEFORE HE SPEAKS. Such a rare and fine quality in a man. He’ll think about what she’s saying, and quickly devises an appropriate answer. Oh, and not to mention… He’s DANGEROUSLY ROMANTIC! Ugh that feels…
 
“Me?” I crouch in front of her again. “But I’m here, Camryn. I’ll always be here.” I take her hands into mine. “I don’t care what you do, or what happens between us. I’ll never leave you. I’ll always be with you.” I wrench her hands. “Remember when I said you were the world to me? You asked me to remind you if you ever forrgot. Well, I’m reminding you now.”
 
What I found about this book is that, for me, it wasn’t as moving, or as life-changing as the first novel. Maybe because I felt this book was a little more serious, or the theme was a little beyond my experience and I couldn’t relate as well. The first book was about breaking out, being comfortable with yourself and doing things that made you happy. This book was more about healing, learning to be happy with someone, and forgiving yourself. This book did have its moments though I’ll give it that much, and overall was a wonderful reading experience. God, I love Camryn and Andrew so much
 
“Which brings to mind number four on our list of promises: if I’m ever lost or missing, promise you’ll never stop looking for me until it’s been exactly three hundred sixty-five days. On day three sixty-six, accept that if was alive I would’ve already found my way back to you, and that I’m long dead. I want you to go on with your life.”
 “OK, fine,” she says, slipping out of her seat belt and scooting over next to me. She lays her head on my shoulder. “Only if you agree to do the same for me. One year. Not a day more.”
 “I promise,” I say, though I’m lying through my teeth. I would look for her until the day I died.
 
I’m sad their story is over because I’m going to miss them so damn much! It’s really scary how some stories have such profound effects on people. This book series moved me in ways that I haven’t felt since reading The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay. It is definitely a series that has changed my life.

OMG!!! I am still in shocked on how The Edge Of Never turned out. It starts out for me as a 3 star likable novel and then bang a huge surprise I never saw coming that had me crying like crazy and had me on the edge of my seat. For sure a 4 star - Loved it read.

The beginning is nice and flows smooth, enjoyed the characters but I did feel like it was really not going anywhere with the story. I needed that one moment where I did not see coming and Bam I was hooked til the end.

J.A. Redmerski knows how to write some steamy-cold-shower-needed scenes with a yummy tattoo-alpha male hero. Andrew knows how to bring out Camryn sexy side in and out of the bedroom with his delicious dirty-talking mouth. I look forward to their next journey in The Edge Of Always (The Edge Of Never #2)

I loved how this story played out and how it managed to drag me in. I was enraptured with this story and couldn’t get enough. Told from Camryn’s POV (and sometimes Andrew’s), this story has so much depth and emotions invested in it. Every second brought a new adventure and a new emotion taking me on a rollercoaster that I never wanted to stop. Each page flowed into the next and not one idea got caught in the concept of the book and was lost. Every idea was displayed and described perfectly. This is one of those books that you can’t help get caught up in the character’s plight.

Camryn had her own plight and I loved her for it. A girl who has lost a past love and is hungering for adventure. I loved that she didn’t waste time talking herself out of finding adventure but instead goes out and tries to find it. Her character was simply amazing and I enjoyed every part of her from her emotions to her thoughts and words. As she moves through her journey I was captured into her life and ended up cheering for her throughout the book.

Andrew Parrish. Charming, good natured and hot. What more is there to say? He seemed like the perfect male specimen…until I learned his secret. It threw me for a curve and broke my heart at the same time. I loved it when the story was from his POV because you got a foreshadowing of his secret and the bad news he had yet to break to Camryn. Overall his character was great and added emotional depth and mystery to the story.

In contrast to other books this book is a definite in my favorites. Everything about this book screamed “Amazing” to me and I loved every moment of it. I will be looking for more books by this author and publisher and I hope that the author writes more books with a similar genre to this one.

This book was spectacular. I thought I would just be getting your typical NA road trip book when I started it, but it was so, so much more than that. I laughed. I cried.

“I hate to say it, but shit really does happen. You just have to get over it. Beat the hell out of it by doing things that make you happy.” 

“Live in the moment, where everything is just right, take your time and limit your bad memories and you'll get wherever it is you're going a lot faster and with less bumps in the way.”

“I think when you fall in love, like true love, it’s love for life. All the rest is just experience and delusions.” 

I can't wait for the sequel in November. I don't know if I can stand reading about anything else bad happening to Cam or Andrew though. I'm sure it will be another emotional journey.

I fell in love with Camryn and Andrew in The Edge of Never. I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I started to read that book. I thought it would be another stereotypical road trip book, which I love, don’t get me wrong, but I couldn’t have been further from the truth. It was an emotional journey from beginning to end. I laughed. I blushed. I cried. I totally connected with these characters and had the worst book hangover almost ever after finishing this one. I was desperate to know what happened next. A couple months later, when I first read the blurb for The Edge of Always, I was equal parts thrilled and terrified. I needed to know what happened, but I was so worried what tragedy would befall two of my favorite characters. I had a pretty good idea what it would be, and unfortunately I was right. I knew this book would make for another mentally and emotionally-draining journey. But I couldn’t wait to read it. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley, I got my hands on it early!

After finding each other and overcoming his health issues in The Edge of Never, Camryn and Andrew are ready to get on with the rest of their lives. They’re engaged. They’re expecting a child. Then, the unthinkable happens. A couple that’s already endured so much, both separately and together, have to deal with more. It broke my heart. It broke both of them. They were surrounded by family and friends, but it wasn’t what they needed. Though Andrew was dealing with his own feelings and issues, he was more concerned about fixing Camryn.

  
    “I feel free with you. I feel like I can do anything. Go anywhere. Be anything I want. We’ll settle down soon, but I never want to settle down forever. Does that make any sense?”
  

It seems fitting that once tragedy strikes and everything goes to shit, that Andrew and Camryn take to the road to try to figure out how to put themselves back together. They both have wandering spirits. They met on the road. They fell in love on the road. What better place to heal and grow? The time spent together on the trip, along with the music they immersed themselves in again, was the perfect cure. I don’t know that anything else would have made any sense with these two. Camryn helped Andrew to embrace life and fight after she found out about his brain tumor in the first book. Andrew helped her fight back and move forward in this one. They’re so perfect for each other. Their love jumps off the page. Their passion is intense and the sexy scenes are very, very steamy, just like they were in the first book.

  
    “Some believe that when you die, your afterlife is reliving the happiest moments of your life. One of mine will be the day I marry you. Might as well take the dress with me.”
  

I was a little disturbed with the amount of discussion about death and the number of promises they made to each other that were death-based. I’m not big on the morbid stuff. But, I can’t really blame them. With his medical history and the other tragedies they’ve dealt with, it’s no wonder. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t a turnoff, it was part of who they are. The promises were sweet and swoon-worthy. Heartfelt. I got a little teary-eyed. (Ok, a lot teary-eyed, if I’m being honest.) I adore these two so much. I desperately wanted to see them get their happily-ever-after. They had a long, hard fight. They earned it.

  
    “Life is a mysterious, often unfair, thing. But I think I’ve learned in my time with Andrew that it can also be a wonderful thing, and that usually when something happens that seems unfair, it’s just life’s way of making room for better things to come. I like to think that. It gives me strength when I need it most.”
  

I want to shy away from anything spoilery, so let me just say that The Edge of Always was a beautifully-written book. It took me through the entire gamut of emotions. It was a story of love, of moving on from tragedy and learning to live again. It was often sweet, sometimes seriously sexy – and naughty, and it also had a lot of angst. But, it wasn’t unbearable angst. I cried more happy tears than sad tears in this one. I was left with a smile and a tear in my eye, hugging my iPad because a beautiful, though sometimes sad, journey had come to an end. I will miss Camryn and Andrew. A huge thank you to J.A. Redmerski for writing characters it was so easy to fall in love with.

I love the idea of being able to just pick up and leave for months at a time, traveling all over the country and beyond. Just put names in a hat and pick where your next destination will be. I envy the people that are able to live like this. My Type A personality and need for structure and a routine will forever keep me from living this way. But I can enjoy it while living vicariously through others and their adventures.

Camryn and Andrew are the type of people that refuse to feel stuck in one place for too long of a period of time. They long to find adventure and travel their lives away. (Lucky ducks!) But sometimes life gets in the way of those dreams, and you’re stuck making decisions about what to do next.

After falling in love with this couple in The Edge of Never I was so eager to see where this story would go next. The Edge of Always was much more emotional than I expected. (I actually shed a tear twice – one happy, one sad.) Unlike in The Edge of Never, when Camryn and Andrew set out on a trip this time, it had a purpose. This couple was suffering emotionally. Watching them go through this was emotional for me, the reader, as well. I could feel their sadness, eagerness, loss and even happiness right along with them.

I liked the way the story evolved and the ending was great. I don’t know if there’s a book 3 in the works. If so, I’d love to read more about these characters. If not, I’m happy with the way this one ended. It left me with a feeling of completeness.

This is a series I really enjoyed and would recommend to New Adult fans. Realistic story lines, well-developed and REAL characters, never a dull moment. Enjoy!

Non è iniziato nel migliore dei modi e, avendo esperienza di autori poco raccomandabili per quanto riguarda i sentimenti dei lettori, avevo paura per come potesse andare a finire. Ormai mi ero affezionata a Cam e Andrew e, dopo tutto quello che gli era capitato, un lieto fine ci stava bene! :D
E' stato un gran bel viaggio, anche se... non so, una parte di me vorrebbe sapere cosa succede a Lily :p
