Wow! My mom knocked it out of the park with this book. I seriously have never read a book that has taught me so much about being female. I’m not kidding when I say that everybody of every gender and sex needs to read this book. I will shout from the rooftops of the importance of this book.

As the title suggest, this book is all about the female brain. Starting from in the womb to menopause and everything in between, Louann Brizendine explains exactly what happens to females while going through the different stages of life. She even mentions what boys experience during those times and includes examples from her clients to supplement everything. That made this book a little bit easier to read and it broke up a lot of the science that was involved.

This book has changed me. Had I had this book in highschool it would have changed a lot of things for me. I honestly thought what I went through when my body changed was something I alone was dealing with. Not the case at all. Let me tell you, friends, the relief that flowed through me when I read that part was life changing.

This book has changed my life. I know I’m repeating myself but I can’t help it. I feel so…explained and understanding of myself. I feel like my entire being has been explained. I feel so much better knowing that the changes that happen to me are okay. And I am better prepared for the future changes that will happen. I want everybody to just stop what they are doing and read this book!

The author the best-selling The Female Brain identifies gender differences in the brain, behavior, and hormones to reveal the fundamental characteristics of male realities, offering insight into such topics as the male problem-solving process, competitive aptitude and sexual drive.

As I was talking to a friend, and sharing my current reading activities, I mentioned reading this book about " Male Brain", he replied sarcastically, that it should be a one page or two pages book, since men are not that complicated ?!! This made me burst into laughter, the author herself said the same thing in the introduction, about when she told her surrounding about her book's project, she was told that, she would only need to write a pamphlet to uncover the male brain mystery. 
"Males are considered as simple,while females are complex." This is what you would usually hear everywhere. After reading this book, it would be unfair to simplify the male brain and behaviour. In fact, it is as complex as a female's, sometimes even a little bit more. 
Accompanying the development and growth of male brain from childhood to adulthood (and fatherhood : astonishingly it has its own impact too), helped decipher some of the behaviours I always noticed in males around me. Additionally, the author tried to lean on real life situations to analyse the hormones incidence on male behaviour: it was easier that way to relate and engage. It did also debunk the myth about men being driven by their libido, or boys less emotional than girls (As infants the opposite is more accurate, since : “Researchers have found that by the time a boy is seven months old, he can tell by his mother’s face when she’s angry or afraid. But by the time he’s twelve months old, he’s built up an immunity to her expressions and can easily ignore them. For girls, the opposite happens.” 
The book is chiefly based on M.D Brizendine's trainings and experience, it did however offer an exhaustive study of male's brains and behaviours also. 
Studying male's brain ( or any other(female) brain for that matter) proves to be a real opportunity to learn more about genuine compassion and mutual understanding : that's why it made it to my favourites.

Helpful for generating awareness of gender differences in the brain, but don't expect this book to be an encyclopedia of answers--you will be disappointed. But I also argue it would be unfair to expect so much of one book! Keep reading and seeking more sources to build your knowledge and consider this one of many to begin.
