I finally was able to pick up this book, and I'm sorry I didn't sooner. If you are looking for a twisty mystery that keeps you guessing until near the end, this is for you. I flew through this book in just a few days, as it was easy to pick up and get back into the story. This is written well enough that you are rooting for the main character, while all the while wondering who is good, who is bad, is all this in her head? The author does a satisfying job of keeping you guessing (I only guessed a few things) and then wrapping it all up with answers. Trigger warnings for emotional abuse, divorce, and npd.

Figured out the twist in the first half of the book but still enjoyed reading it.

I read The Other Women by Sandie Jones earlier this year and I loved it. Full of crazy twists and turns and a brilliant ending I didn’t see coming!

As her second book, this was also full of exciting plot twists and interesting characters. I loved how the narrative switched between Alice Present Day and Beth 9 Years Ago then finally to Alice and Beth Present Day. 

I liked the characters and I felt like the book was very well thought out and interesting. It seemed well researched and I enjoyed seeing the main women in a domestic thriller have a well paid and successful business. Makes a bit of a change! But the epilogue threw me a little. I didn’t know what to make of it - perhaps that was the intention! 

EDIT: ok, I read the ending as if it was a specific character but I now understand the ambiguity and get that it IS supposed to be a bit of a cliffhanger - not a specific character. Whoops! 

Overall this was a great book. I preferred The Other Woman but this was still well worth the read!

I went into this book without having read Sandie Jone’s first novel (unlike the rest of the world) so I had no idea what to expect or what I was getting myself into. I was not expecting all of the whip-lashing twists and turns and the constant guessing game of who’s right and who’s wrong. 

The story is told from two different characters, Alice and Beth, and I’m glad that you got to hear the backstory with Beth and what was going on in the present tense with both of them. Parts of this book were completely predictable while other parts were throwing me for a loop. I thought I had everything figured out around page 108 but I was way wrong when the book threw another twist at me. 

The dialogue between the characters kept me engaged in the story and I loved each of them for their own reasons, even the “bad” characters. 

This is a very fast domestic thriller and I honestly finished it in less than 12 hours. I now feel like I need to pick up her first novel The Other Woman and devour that one as well!

3.5 stars. I loved The Other Woman so I was super excited for this one. I sped through it in a day, but it was a little unsatisfying and confusing. More domestic suspense than thriller, but maybe a good beach read.
