The Gathering Storm Book 12 of the Wheel of Time
Reviews

I love Brandon Sanderson. But I got to be honest: I was nervous. The overall consensus was that he did a great job. Still I was worried. I loved it. Brandon Sanderson did a great job following Robert Jordan's work. If anything the only thing is that Jordan was a lot more descriptive in his narrative. But I think that's in part what made the book so great because it left a lot more for the characters to develop instead of descriptions of clothing and women pulling their braids, which Jordan loved to write. In the end its a faithful book without all the little annoying things. This focus mainly on two characters: Rand and Egwene. And we can see major growth in both of them. Especially in Egwene, it was great to see what she'd become and how she managed it. I missed the other characters, but I understand that this issues had to be addressed. The Last Battle is coming and I can't wait for the last two books.

This is the best book of the series so far. If you're struggling to get through Book 10, just know it gets better. So much better.

Yes!!! This was such a good entry in the Wheel of Time series. I loved how so many things are coming together and the pieces are being set for an incredible end to this massive series. The last few books were not my favorite, but I can see how everything had a place and a reason for being there. I can’t wait for these next two books to see how it all comes together.

Incredible. Sanderson's take over was seamless, and the characters arcs in this book are some of the best so far. Adrenaline rush from start to finish, this series is unbelievable.

“I am here.” I am here. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the switch in the last hours of Wheel of Time. I had no reason to be wary. Potentially my favorite chapter of the series is held within these pages. The turning point of a “meh”ly regarded character for me becoming a favorite I respect immensely (and did not see coming) happens within these pages. These pages are just... ugh. Break me, Sanderson & Jordan. I’m ready for the Last Battle.

Sanderson really breathes new life into this series. Not to say that Jordan didn’t, he created it after all. I found that Sanderson breaks some of the less enjoyable patterns that almost each previous book followed, and overall brought everything together very concisely. Sanderson brings up many old characters/parts that I lost track of through the series: expanding upon them, tying up the loose ends, or simply acknowledging them. I found myself many times saying “oh yeaaaahhh, what ever happened there…” or “riiiight I forgot about them”. Sanderson comes in to begin completing the world that Jordan built, and elevating it even. Excited for the last 2.

So close to being finished. Onto book 13 and loving this world

I really enjoyed this. Brandon Sanderson did a really excellent job of continuing the story.

Whoo! Getting there!
