What a delightful little book. Definitely not Dahl’s finest, I think I prefer his longer books, but certainly enjoyable nevertheless.

It’s probably best to just go into this book only knowing that you like Dahl’s other work because it is so short.

It was just a whimsical and charming story that was well written and beautifully illustrated (by Quentin Blake), but there wasn’t much to it ultimately.

There’s not too much to comment on other than I loved the Wonka factory reference.

After reading The Twits last year and deciding it was the worst book I've ever read I've been a little hesitant to read any more of Roald Dahl's books. I just don't think some of them stand up to the test of time or have particularly good messages in them for children.

However, this one is exactly what I expect from Dahl's books. It was a fun and silly story that I really appreciated. I 3 starts for me is just becuase of how short it was
