           I loved it since it picks up from the first book with the same characters, and the same slow-burn romance, once again she keeps you on the edge of your seat with her continuation from her first book. You can't put it down once you pick it up. You want to read and see where she takes her characters in this book and hope that Finley finally ends up with Griffin, and Sam finally ends up with Emily. I love Kady Cross's books she is one of the best writers I have ever read.

After the first in the series (Steel Corset) this book was a bit of a let down. Cross seems to have left the fascinating ambiguity and steampunk nature in England when she took her characters to America. The whole plot seemed a bit contrived and nowhere near as compelling as fighting The Machinist. The whole book felt clumsy. Cross lost a little of her lithe storytelling in this book. I will keep reading the series though. There are enough unanswered questions from the first book to keep me reading.
