this book (like all of montgomery's) makes me desperately want to visit PEI in october specifically. maybe sometime !!! -- 2018 I just finished reading this for like the idk-ish time (probably 5th...) and I still love it as much as I ever did, the ending was so amazing and the prophecies at the end and the newspaper <---that was the BEST THING IN THERE and the stories Sara Stanley told (The one about Ursula and Kenneth MacNair was my favorite one!) It has a different mood from the first one, tho, bc the characters have grown up and well....they're different now.......but the writing is even better (aren't I random)

Montgomery’s poetic prose was just enough to hook me despite it not being Anne of Green Gables then she had to go and write a cat’s death. I don’t know that I’ll ever cease to blubber over the loss of my own fur baby’s.

Untimely demise aside, there were nuggets of magic to be found in this audiobook; though, the narrator wouldn’t have been my first choice. Many passages and stories delighted my heart and amused my mind. Sadly, they were only barely enough to keep my interest. The synopsis too, I feel, was a touch misleading. Still, I want to try reading other books by Montgomery. I don’t think I’ll read this book again, but I would recommend it to anyone looking for a wholesome coming of age story.
