The Good Girls is surely a lot crazier than the first book. The plot escalated quickly, and once it did, everything was in chaos. More people started dying, and the mystery thickens, leaving readers with trails of clues than answers. One thing that I loved about this book was how it reminded me so much of why I've come to love mystery stories. It was consistently riveting and thrilling. It was a page-turner. When the mystery was finally unfolded, everything made sense. I've had my fair share of suspicions and theories, but who the true suspect was still came out as a surprise to me. How Shepard unraveled everything was terrifically written. 

Again, this book was so short that everything happened quickly. We try to immerse on the girls's individual lives, yet we only get a glimpse of it. I would've liked it if this was longer. In that way, the character development of each protagonist would clearly progress and be evident in the end. That's why I only gave this 3 stars.

Nonetheless, it was a good and enjoyable book. A quick read, and definitely an interesting one as well.

Meine Meinung: Schon bevor ich angefangen habe, diese Rezension abzutippen war mir bewusst, dass es , mir wahrscheinlich sehr schwer fallen wird, meine Gefühle und meine Meinung dazu nachhaltig in einer Rezension in Worte zu fassen. Schon immer konnte mich Sara Shepard mit ihren Werken auf purer Unterhaltungsebene fesseln und begeistern aber das, was sie mit dem Leser im finalen Teil der The Perfectionists-Dilogie anstellt, ist gleichzeitig absolut genial und zutiefst erschreckend. 
Nachdem Nolan exakt so gestorben ist, wie sie es sich spaßeshalber ausgemalt haben, stehen die fünf Mädchen Ava, Caitlin, Mackenzie, Julie und Parker unter Mordverdacht. Denn auch der verhasste Lehrer, von dem sie dachten, dass ER Nolan umgebracht hat, wird tot aufgefunden und das genau an dem Abend, an dem die Mädchen seine Schuld beweisen wollten und in sein Haus eingedrungen sind. Die ganze Lage hat sich also nach dem ersten Band der Dilogie erheblich zugespitzt und schon bald geht es nicht mehr darum, nur die Morde an Nolan und Mr Granger zu klären. Nach und nach werden auch die anderen Personen auf der Liste der Mädchen ermordet und es ist klar, dass die fünf unbedingt herausfinden müssen, wer dahinter steckt, bevor noch mehr Leute umgebracht werden. 
Band 1 der Dilogie ist wirklisch sehr spannend und ich habe ihn sehr geliebt. Aber Band 2 toppt diesen nochmals um weiten. Erst hatte ich befürchtet, dass ich Probleme haben werde, mich wieder in die vielen Erzählerinnen und Gegebenheiten einzufinden aber der erneute Einstieg war um einiges leichter als gedacht. Zudem baut der zweite Teil der Dilogie deutlich mehr Spannung auf. Die Konflikte der Mädchen, die in Band 1 da und auch schon problematisch waren, werden im finalen Band nun ausgebaut und letztendlich auch gelöst. Nichts bleibt unbeantwortet und lässt den Leser unzufrieden zurück.
Die Mädchen mochte ich auch in diesem Band alle sehr. Obwohl ich beispielsweise bei Lying Game und den Pretty Little Liars klare Präferenzen habe, kann ich mich in der The Pefectionists-Dilogie für keine entscheiden. Alle fünf sind toll, komplett unterschiedlich und gemeinsam mit ihren Sorgen und Problemen unglaublich interessant. Gerade gegen Ende schlug dies aber plötzlich sehr um und genau hier kommen wir an den Punkt, der mich absolut überrascht hat und der die Dilogie für mich so genial und unvergesslich macht. An dieser Stelle kann ich euch natürlich keinesfalls verraten, um was es sich hier handelt aber die Auflösung hat mich so beeindruckt und sprachlos gemacht, dass ich es jetzt noch bin, wenn ich diese Rezension schreibe. Genau diese Tatsache war rückblickend in allen beiden Bänden auf jeden Fall erkennbar und erahnbar aber genau letzteres hat Sara Shepard einfach unglaublich gut versteckt und schwer gemacht. Dafür gibt es von mir ganz großes Lob für diese würdigen Abschluss!
Bewertung: Das Ende der Dilogie ist genial und absolut würdig. Sara Shepard versteht es die Konflikte der Mädchen im Buch zu vertiefen und sie letztendlich gekonnt aufzulösen. Das Ende überrascht den Leser enorm und macht so nicht nur dieses Buch sondern die gesamte Dilogie absolut lesenswert! Dafür gibt es von mir eine ganz große Empfehlung. Das Buch ist genial.

This is the best Shepard's book (series).
It is highly enjoyable. 
The ending was really well thought of and for the first time the characters were normal (PLL can be really annoying).

It is a two book series and the ending is satisfying so I would recommend this as a guilty pleasure ya mystery read.

**Now I have to note that this has almost all the usual bad sides of Shepard's writing such as creepy dialogues and questionable writing quality**

What are my thoughts on The Good Girls? Good question. Okay, okay. Hang on. Let me catch my breath in time for this one because let’s be honest here: Sara Shepard threw me on my ass with her plot twists in the sequel to The Perfectionists. This isn’t the first time she’s done this but in this novels case… it was mind blowing. I was so shocked; my jaw hit the fucking floor.

I’m going to urge anyone who hasn’t read the conclusion of this novel to not read on when it comes to this review, because–HELLO!–spoilers.

You know those books where you think you have everything figured out? Or at least an inkling of where the plot will go, when the big reveal will come? This is absolutely one of them–I’m still in complete shock over who the killer was. I feel as though I’ve had the rug pulled out from under me.

It’s true that Sara is the master of suspense, of manipulating our emotions, of giving us a false sense of comfort only to tear it away. So I think it’s safe to say that everyone was expecting a twist of epic proportions, but I am surprised. Delightfully so.

This series played with my mind over and over again and I'm not even mad about it. It was brilliant. In one way, the ending/conclusion to the plot was what I expected and yet on the other hand it was not what I expected at all. I couldn't stop explaining to any who would listen the plot and the ending, it was just so clever and surprising. 
If you have previously enjoyed any of Sara Shepards books I highly recommend both books in this series.
