So when I began reading this and realised it was about a chap who deals with fantastical creatures and demons and such in a contemporary setting, it had me very excited for the prospect of a British version of the Dresden Files. However, with no gripping characters and some weak monsters (the one at the end is the only one I could actually imagine) it quickly became prevalent that I wasn't going to enjoy this as much as I enjoyed that series. If you're into magical lore and aren't hugely character-focused then this will likely intrigue you as there are quite some cool element to the monster lore.
