Gillian Flynn

When a charlatan "psychic" visits her Victorian home to find the source of her terror and grief, Susan, the psychic, and her teenage stepson are soon forced to confront the truth about ghosts.

The Grownup

Classic Gillian Flynn. There’s blood, there’s weird creepy characters, and there’s of course a twist. Also she’s so funny! Very well structured for a short novella too. Is it a + 0.5 or -0.5 if I wanted it to be so much longer? I don’t know. But I’d recommend.

fast paced so i finished it in one sitting! ngl i found it very humorous at first but then it just turned very dark creepy way.... a good short book tho

I can’t decide if I’m glad or disappointed she didn’t try to string this into a whole book.

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Gillian Flynn’s Edgar Award-winning homage to the classic ghost story, published for the first time as a standalone. A canny young woman is struggling to survive by perpetrating various levels of mostly harmless fraud. On a rainy April morning, she is reading auras at Spiritual Palms when Susan Burke walks in. A keen observer of human behavior, our unnamed narrator immediately diagnoses beautiful, rich Susan as an unhappy woman eager to give her lovely life a drama injection. However, when the "psychic" visits the eerie Victorian home that has been the source of Susan’s terror and grief, she realizes she may not have to pretend to believe in ghosts anymore. Miles, Susan’s teenage stepson, doesn’t help matters with his disturbing manner and grisly imagination. The three are soon locked in a chilling battle to discover where the evil truly lurks and what, if anything, can be done to escape it. “The Grownup,” which originally appeared as “What Do You Do?” in George R. R. Martin’s Rogues anthology, proves once again that Gillian Flynn is one of the world’s most original and skilled voices in fiction.

Occam's Razor

Good, short psychological thriller that was quite fun to read. Very interesting characters, and a twist that I should have seen coming but did not. Good writing as well.

Silly goose type beat. The pacing is a bit fast towards the end but it’s got that feel of a thriller movie at the suspenseful moment so.

Keisengan dengerin audiobook nya yg mayan enjoy. Tapi tapi tolong cerita nya kurang panjangggg, gimana ending nya bisa gitu 😌😌 I need more to know about [redected] and [redected] road trip. "books maybe temporary, but dicks are forever" still whole mood quote.

High Fidelity
