a good continuation of the series. once again, the world building is extremely interesting and has only gotten better the more it is developed.

I reeeeeaalllllyyyy enjoyed this. At the start I thought it was only gonna be as good as the first one, but I felt it really picked up in the later half which, once I thought about it afterward, made me realise I’m just not a fan of the investigating parts of mystery books which is what the start of the book was more focused on. There was a big found family feeling to this book which I really loved too, and I’m excited to see how all the new characters get along together in the next book. I still feel like the series puts the mystery/objective above character interactions, but this book had in improvement on that compared to the first. Overall it feels like the priorities are mystery/objective of the book > found family > romance. Even if I still wish there were more character interactions that aren’t about life or death situations, I really do love the characters and I’m so excited to read the next instalment when it’s released.

So you know how a book is so good that you don't want to put it down? You want to read it all in one delicious sitting? But then again you don't want to devour the book whole because you kinda don't want it to end?? Yup. This one. Love the characters, love the world building and the protocols and history. So much fun you hanging on for the ride you don't realize how invested in the characters you become as well. More please.
