I've been jonesing for Gothics mixed with Regency England, and this seemed to be up my alley. 

I enjoyed it but had some issues. Namely, they referred to the duke as Lord Brammel for an entire scene, and that's not quite how that works. I've read a lot of Regencies, so the incorrect usage of titles was jarring, but not enough for me to stop reading.

Flat characters

Mystery was interesting, the romance dull and without chemistry. I have no patience for a man who can only think about sex whenever he's with the heroine.

I think it's the first time I enjoyed a Regency novel this much! The story was exciting and I could hardly put the book down. It was a bit predictable, but that didn't lessen my enjoyment. The main characters were very likeable and I loved the sexual tension between them.
