I almost didn’t survive this... But wow! The writing was wonderful! It sunk its claws on me and wouldn’t let go. It scared me so many times. Even for a non-horror lover, this book was great. Dare I say, I’m eagerly anticipating the rest of the serials! 

Beatrix’s character somehow transfixed me. I loved her character arc, how she started in the story, then everything she went through, and ultimately tapping into what was right to be able to have success. I cannot wait for more adventures by her.

A quick spooky read that will put you into the spooky season. 

Okay so these chapters were basically called episodes which was odd but it was no biggie. It did made it feel like I was watching Netflix for some reason. The main character is Beatrix, the one who speaks with the spirits. The other character is named James. He's a man who always has an answer in a scientific way. Two opposites who attract. I did enjoy the gothic genre when it comes to haunted houses. I did like the plot of this book. It had a steady pace of the development between the two main characters. If you want to read something light this would be it. It's a good story if you wanna read something that is in the alley of horror and mystery. Overall, I give this book a solid 3 stars.

I was excited to have the opportunity to read The Haunting of Beatrix Greene before Halloween hoping it would be the perfect, spooky read for the season.

In some ways, it did just that! Beatrix is a fake spiritualist invited to spend the night at Ashbury Manor by Lord Ashbury to help free the spirit of his mother, Lady Ashbury. The concept is great, however at times I felt that the story was rushed and at times predictable. I felt like the romance between Lord Ashbury and Beatrix came out of nowhere and wasn’t developed enough for me to be rooting for them. 

By the end, certain details felt repetitive. It seemed like they battled with the spirits haunting the manor over and over again, which made me a little bored. 

Overall, I felt like this could have been developed better. Especially since the book is so short, there was room for more. It did put me in the mood for spooky season!

Okay, this was definitely spooky. 

I'm not really sure how the whole volume/series/episode thing is supposed to work with this but, whatever, it'll all work itself out eventually right? Also, I received an ARC of this via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

So let's review.

I really like Beatrix' character. She has an interesting skill set and I want to know more about how things this works for her and why she's able to do it.

Henry is also a super fun character. He's the classic goofy side-kick and I just dang love him.

James is our somewhat love interest and I love him too. Honestly the character work here was great. 

I loved the spooky haunted house vibes. I mean, any time a house comes with a past, I'm all for it!

The way the story played out was great. The ended was good, I liked where things ended. I would definitely like to see more from this series in the future!

What a great short little spooky read! Perfect for the start of the autumn season!
This was a really sweet blend of historical, romance, and a dash of horror. A bit of body horror at a certain part that made me tense a little bit, man what vivid descriptions! lol 
I really enjoyed this, very atmospheric. I felt that the characters were pretty rich considering how short the book was, and apricated the witty banter juxtaposed with the grim horror elements.

The Haunting of Beatrix Greene was hard for me to get through. I was drawn in by the premise, but the execution was a bit predictable and I kept getting distracted by the chapters being labeled as episodes as if it was a TV series. 

I also didn’t find myself connected to the characters and that made it a little more difficult to stick with.
