Such a beautiful book of poetry. Amanda has perfectly captured the nuances of what we have been facing these past years and I believe that this volume will be something people study one hundred years from now when they are learning about our time. I really enjoyed reading it.

So I listened to this during the inauguration and loved it. This was recommended to me today and I Borrowed it from Libby and I’m glad I did hearing it is one thing but reading is was a whole nother thing. Will are world ever work together and rise out of the ashes or will we let hate and differences keep us down and hidden.

Can we just pause for a second and talk about how inspiring this woman is. The day I listened to Amanda Gorman talk in front of the nation, I immediately knew she would be big. This Inaugural Poem is what inspired me to keep pushing because I was practicing for a speech at the time and the fire within me became fueled after hearing this amazing woman speak. This book and poem itself is the epitome of what America should be. A nation of progress and a nation where we do not discriminate others based on opinions that individuals who look down on others have. Instead, we should unify for the sake of our country and put our differences aside.

If I'm being honest, poetry really has never been my thing. Or, at the very least, it's not something I actively seek out. This poem, however, made such a huge impact on me when Amanda originally read it at Biden's Inauguration, that I didn't hesitate to download this audio performance to relive it. It was just as beautiful and powerful this time around through my earbuds as it was when I originally watched it live. What a talented young woman. The forward from Oprah was a wonderful addition, too.
