love the story, the banter, the dialogues. everything is so hilarious, especially hunter. though he often came out soooo irritating. i just don't like lj shen

HUNTER UNFILTERED DIRTY FILTHY MOUTH THAT MANAGE TO PUT A SMILE IN MY LIPS IN ALL HIS POV 😅🤤 Hands down to awesome dialogue between Hunter and Sailor. I was actually still obsessed with Troy and Sparrow and I decided to carry my journey here to read more about them and clearly it bring me to something beautiful. The writing is just so beautiful. Hunter and Sailor is not a boring character. I just want to cry so hard and fall in love at the same time. I was so impatient to finish the book to know the ending and guess what? It’s mf worth it!!! 😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥 Not going to reviews so much on this but know that I’m putting this on me re-read list! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! :) xoxo.
this was GREAT! the dialogue was hilarious! I wasn't expecting a little mystery subplot. Overall, this was a fun read, gave lowkey Dynasty vibes but with ruthless assholes. and those assholes made me want to throw the book across the room .. but the book was in my phone soo just threw it at a pillow
It really took me forever to finish this ... mainly only because I got busy but I just couldn’t really get into their romance. I only read it for the ‘plot,’ if u get what i’m saying
L.J Shen can literally do no wrong. That is all.
The Hunter by L.J. Shen was so freaking good! This was a enemies-to-friends-to-lovers romance (if that even makes sense). But basically Sailor is the classic good-girl who is more focused on her career (archery & the olympics) rather than relationships. On the other hand, Hunter is the classic rich destructive party boy that’s only here for a good time, not a long time. Opposites attract in The Hunter. Of course these two characters will clash! They have completely different priorities in life which causes some tension when they become roommates. Sailor is given the job of Hunter’s chastity belt by his father when his escapades erupt in scandal. Or at least more of a scandal than usual. The Sailor and Hunter clashes were probably some of my favorite parts of the book. They had these moments of complete hilarity that had me grinning at my kindle during random times of the day. And yet, I still got caught up in their stories and histories in a way that had me emotionally involved. I have no idea how this balance was achieved with such grace but there it was between the pages of this book. The Hunter brought a deeper level than expected. While these characters (especially Hunter) might seem ridiculous or exaggerated, they did deal with some heavy topics. Hunter couldn’t live up to his family’s expectations – and felt extra pressure to prove himself. I don’t want to give away the “why” reasoning he had, but it definitely could be relatable. On the other hand, there’s Sailor who seems like the average pre-olympic athlete with a deep drive toward success. Yet, throughout the book there are these hints of a past trauma that keeps her focus on archery and off a social life. Again, without spoiling too much, there is so much more to this book and these characters than your typical “enemies-to-friends-to-lovers” romance. Overall I really enjoyed The Hunter. The romance was bomb, the characters had more depth than first thought, and this book overall was an attention grabber. L.J. Shen is a brilliant author and I always look forward to her releases. This book did not disappoint and I hope to see more of these characters!

4 stars. This was cute! It made me smile and laugh, and I loved Hunter even though he was absolutely ridiculous. I missed some of the angst that LJ Shen usually writes though, and I felt like it got a little boring towards the end. But still had a blast reading it. Hoping Cillian gets his own book!

If you like steamy, smutty, forbidden romance then pick this one up! I loved Sailor and Hunters story. They both didn't know what they needed until they ended up living together. So much smut and steamy time. I couldn't stand Hunters father but I guess that was the point. I recommend picking this up for a quick romance read.
“The Hunter” by LJ Shen is the first book in her Boston Bells Series and if your looking for a hot summer read (or re-read let’s be honest) Hunter is going to be your new book boyfriend. Swoon. This book absolutely slayed me. Hunter & Sailor were full of witty remarks, sharp comebacks and while Hunter is such a lost boy he finds the perfect fit in Sailor. Sailor is perfect. She’s sweet, sassy, kind and overall just a good person. She’s the light to his dark and together they are magic. 10/10 recommend and ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Another angsty, fun and engrossing romance from LJ Shen! I really loved Sailor in this, she was interesting and different than most romance heroines, something I don’t usually see nowadays. I can’t wait until we get more of the Boston Belles! And more story crossovers!
