The Illustrated Man
Reviews

quite possibly the most fascinating and diverse collection of short stories i've ever read. it's been a few years since i've finished reading this and i'm merely recollecting my thoughts just now, but this book genuinely sparked my interest in reading more works on speculative/science fiction.

Some good stories, some not-so-good stories, lots of great writing.

I like his connected short stories.

This wasn't what I expected. With the backdrop of a magically tattooed man, I thought these stories would be more similar to Something Wicked This Way Comes. Instead, they seem like they belong in The Martian Chronicles. They're still wonderful, though, full of that fantastic Bradbury imagery and imagination. I particularly like the way he reframes the possibilities and ideas of interaction between peoples from different worlds. I won't spoil anything, but I find it amazing how his vision of humanity can be so hopeful and so pessimistic at the same time. Reading Bradbury always makes me hope we can be better than we often show ourselves to be.

He don’t miss.

algunos cuentos me parecieron muy buenos y otros, bastante meh. Lo bueno es que se lee bastante rápido.

Easily my favorite collection of short stories ever. I can't believe it's taken me so long to read Bradbury but I'm glad this was my first exposure to him.

damn! this dude really liked mars!

Bradbury did it again! One of the best short story collections I’ve ever read. Favorites: - The Rocket Man - The City - The Exiles - Prologue and epilogue, which tell he story of the Illustrated Man. - The Man - No Particular Night or Morning

A lovely book of wonder, that appealed to all of my childhood curiosities about space. Easy, fun read .

Highlights

When life is over it is like a flicker of bright film, an instant on the screen, all of its prejudices and passions condensed and illumined for an instant on space, and before you could cry out, "There was a happy day, there a bad one, there an evil face, there a good one," the film burned to a cinder, the screen went dark.
