Wow! What a great book! The book is essentially half autobiographical, telling the story of Nik and his family as they moved from America to Africa as missionaries. Ultimately they served in Somaliland during the mid-nineties and saw some absolute atrocious scenes. In the process they served tens of thousands of individuals suffering from starvation, malnutrition, and other ailments. They eventually come back to America and then Nik travels around to just about every country in the world that is persecuting Christians. He travels the globe in order to interview various believers that have been living under persecution. The last half of the book tells story after story of believers all over the world that have encountered tremendous persecution for their faith. It's an incredible journey, and the telling of the tale is fantastic. It's clear that this book tells only a small portion of what Nik learned in his travels. I'm certain there will be other books, and I would bet that the full versions of what he learned will not be out for a few decades, in order to ensure the safety of those that still live in violent and hostile countries. This book is a must read for believers, and I would add that it's probably most important for those in America to read and meditate upon. I don't think you can read this book openly as a believer in Jesus and not be changed.
